What makes you think he’s full of shit? Just why.

Well for a start, it’s not a swap transfer. It read “makeweight” as in here’s money + Bailly.

yeah. Thats what i meant. Player plus cash swap. Those transfers dont really happen outside of videogames

Isn't it counterintuitive to let everyone know you've £150m to spend?

Agent of Milinkovic-Savic has had contact with Manchester United and PSG but Lazio president Lotito is asking for €100 million (this includes bonuses).

I want what he is smoking.

With Marwin Hitz leaving at the end of the season, it looks like Dortmund are going to secure his replacement:

I find it insane that this narrative has become rife amongst the fan base without any account taken of his injuries, surgery and recovery, the abhorrent hate he’s had to tolerate since missing the Pen for England which would knock anybody’s confidence and being played out of position on the right for much of the season. At what point does the lad get a supportive arm round the shoulder and given time to get back to form - especially given his performances since his debut when we really needed him.

He had all the time in the world to comeback in the best shape as possible after shoulder surgery. If his back is still not what it was or his ankle/foot, then what steps have been taken by him, the player and person, first and foremost, which then the club can support him?

There's no real hate towards Marcus the person, it has recently been his commitment, dedication, professionalism, and effort for the team and his teammates. Players will make physical mistakes and have poor form, that's acceptable. What's not acceptable is the effort you're putting in, especially on matchdays when you're the number 10 of Manchester United. You are one of the highest earners at the club and in the PL. The club has put a lot of belief, time, effort, and support for a player like him to be a central figure in the football they play.

Being played "out of position" is being played for the greater good of the team. He's lost out to Elanga many times this season. That's an issue and shouldn't be happening. He's being given the time to get back into form, like the past 7 months. His performances that he showed even during his debut season(s) was good, but as EtH said yesterday and multiple times, "good is not good enough". He's had to raise his game another level or two, coupled with consistency. He's been unable to do that, and as a central figure in the team, the team has suffered especially this past season.

Marcus can only improve and get back to his best at least. But by god, while his form and confidence has been low, effort shouldn't be questioned. RVP didn't score for like 10 games for United. He had a rotten streak, but he still put in the effort and desire to play for the team. Do whatever it takes to win for the team. That's the difference.

Ole shouldn’t have played him injured and Southgate shouldn't have taken him to the Euros, prolonging his operation, to not give him a kick of the ball until a pivotal penalty kick in the final.

the balanced argument imho is yes all that has affected him. But he will have a new team round him, new manager, full pre season whilst fit. You cant be ‘out of form’ for 2 years.

If he doesnt hit the ground running in August then I cant see him coming back to form. But i am confident he will return from Summer rejuvenated

My thoughts too

I'm not too disappointed when we get bad news on players we'd like to get in this summer. Ten Hag has his system and will have identified those best to fit in to that, so I'm sitting back and awaiting his decisions, rather than muppeteering (invented word) over dream signings. The FDJ tweets today was tough reading but hopefully Eric will get in what's needed. I hope he stands by what he said, though when stating he wanted all transfer business done early, especially before pre-season begins.

He's been shit for 18 months. At any top club he is shipped out by now.

He has and yet he’s achieved an awful lot more than say Jack Grealish and is 2 years younger. He has talent and character. We’ve all seen it before.

We can’t afford to write off a player who could be top class with so many more holes to fill and having lost Greenwood.

I can’t help but look at Sterling as a comparison. He had a similar career dip around 23-24 just like Rashford has. There was talk of him leaving City. And then he kicked on again under Pep.

He’s definitely in last chance saloon but we could save ourselves a fortune if there is a redemption there.

This is mostly fair but consistency is not something players often present form 18-24. The likes of Salah and Mane hadn’t even signed for Liverpool at Rashfords age. He’s still got time to become an absolutely unbelievable player. It’s upto him to do so.

If FDJ is not coming. Teun Koopmeiners is a cheaper and quite effective option for the LCM role.

If Rice plus Phillips are not coming. then Edson Alvarez or Sangare are perfect option B.
Apart from technical ability, we need players who will love to wear the badge with pride.

I suppose this sort of cash injection by owners has to be legally made public. Otherwise, yes it's a bit daft.

Pedulla replied (using twitter translate here): But I did not speak of an offer but of a request. Then sorry, since you seed after not being able to read who are you?

Milinkovic-Savic is too pedestrian for the Premier League, no thank you. If you thought Pogba was ponderous on the ball wait until you see this guy.

Bayern  not that they aren't a top club but they can't afford what we would ask for him if he was leaving. Probably hoping he'd run his contract down.

There is no way Bayern would spend 20 or 30 mil

Well for start he lacks their talent and mentality. Martial had the talent but lacked mentality. Rashford is no where close to these players. Salah at age 25 to 26 was already considered in top 5 players of the world.

I think the Savic rumours are all made up crap from agents. They have been linking him to us for the past 4 years.

So it looks like all of that £150m will go to Conte.

If that's true - big IF - then Spurs could have a £200m+ net spend budget this summer after adding in our normal (average) summer transfer kitty, + some of the extra cash to come from CL football. That'd be far, far more than Spurs have ever had available before.

Absolutely correct and fair. This coming season is the one to judge Marcus, not the last one.

I think some forget how young Marcus still is as he has been around for so long.

Were you lost in the cheese room mate over the last couple of months

Rashford's 24 though. At the same age Salah was on loan to Roma halfway through a season where he got 14 in 34 in serie A. You'll need to wait a couple of years before this comparison becomes relevant.
