Journos are pissing themselves knowing that this club getting it’s act together means they’re going to have to start doing actual work again to get clicks, instead of just making up whatever they want and chalking it up as “Manchester United is in turmoil.”
This may apply to almost every journalist who reports on United, but neither Ornstein nor Whitwell have portrayed a particularly negative tone towards the club. Ornstein himself has always been neutral, whilst Whitwell's probably the journalist with the most positive reports out of all of the other journalists.
This article from Whitwell seems to be his most negative one, weirdly. This is the first time I've seen him with such a negative tone in his Tweets.

I thought he was sort of bought to platoon as the defensive option at RB, be a great fit in a 3 man backline and also cover at CB? You'd think Arteta would want a bit more of an offensive option for most league games to stop double teams on your main creative threat.

Haaland seems to have a very clear and methodical approach to his career, but just because he didn't want to spend any more time at Dortmund than he needed for his personal development doesn't mean he won't stay long term when he joins a club like e.g. City, at least while Pep is in charge.

You maybe get the sense that he wants to copy Ronaldo by winning league titles in multiple countries but you never know I guess.
I get the sense that he deliberately picked the route via Salzburg and Dortmund, over perhaps bigger clubs at the time, to maximize his development and arrive at the mega deal he's heading for at age 21. But beyond that who really knows? Look at Aubameyang for example, he always talked about wanting to play for Real Madrid, because of his dead grandfather or something and now he's playing for Barca. In the end there are so many moving parts at every club that it's hard to predict what opportunities will present themselves at the end of one's contract and if anything I'd say Haaland is too ambitious with regards to setting goal scoring records in the CL and maybe trying to win the Ballon d'Or for him to consider joining a French or Italian team.

He’s a really really good player and criminally underrated by so many who think he’s all set pieces.
Yeah, like that. He's used to a high intensity style of football now under Hasenhüttl and he'd be the best upgrade possible on our set pieces. Him and another deep lying midfielder and midfield is starting to look functional.
How reliable is this? Hes a really good midfielder, would love him over the likes of Phillips any day.
Yep, criminally underrated as you said. Wanting us to sign him for 3 years. The guy has terrific attitude, is an excellent passer, fantastic at set pieces, great engine , rarely injured. He is a really good b2b midfielder. Can run all day. Always shows up for the ball. Always takes responsibility and never hides. Wish we signed him a few yrs back. It’s amazing the talent pool of English players we have right now in PL and we still somehow manage to sign the dross. Gonna sign Maguire , AWB, but JWP isn’t good enough even though we need a midfielder for years.

Ward-Prowse would be a shrewd pickup for the right price. Ideal for pressing football and we'd finally have a set piece specialist.
A shame all our set-piece “specialists” turn to shit once we buy them: Bruno, Pogba, Telles, Mata all had a reputation for swinging fantastic balls into the box - now we’re lucky if we score 2-3 goals per season from set pieces.
If it were just JWP then no thanks...but as part of a midfield overhaul then yes please
Definitely not good enough for where United aspire to be. City are interested in him the same way they were interested in Maguire, Sanchez, Fred etc.
I always like Ward Prowse, proved his worth consistently in the premier league playing in a 4-4-2 week in week out for years, could be a decent signing if the price is right imho.
