Lingard

He's great, but he's nearing the end of his career - not the best time to switch to the far more demanding premier league. This would be short termism at the Glazer's best again. We need a striker aged in his early to mid twenties. Obviously Haaland won't be coming, but what about Martinez at Inter or even Isak at Sociedad? Why oh why didn't we go for Vlahovic?

90% of these named will go eventually. Some want out and others are just not good enough. But I can see a huge clearout in the summer.
You’ve listed 16 players. I just don’t see us clearing 16 players out leaving us with huge holes in the squad. No way are we clearing Fred or the 2 fullbacks mentioned out. I just dont see it. Those out of contract Lingard, Pogba, mata, cavani will definitely go. Greenwood is likely done too. A couple of sales on top. I can see about 8 leaving this summer. I’d be pleasantly surprised if it’s more than that

AWB, Telles, Fred, Rashford, VDB ad Martial won't be leaving.
We are not going to build a new squad in one summer

9 are definitely going as contracts are up. Others either want out or are not good enough. Check list again.
So that leaves us with:
DDG
Varane
Maguire
Lindelof
Dalot
Shaw
Mctom
Sancho
Elanga.

Good squad that mate.

The fact that you’re saying not good enough means it’s just your wishlist.
also “wants out” doesn’t necessarily equate to leaving especially if they like the new incoming manager. For example if it’s ETH he might want martial as the player who can hold the ball up

You can add players who we bring in to this, as well as some young players
A RB, CB, 2 Midfielders and a CF. should be brought in. ( 5 Players)
Garner, Mejbri, Mendi, Amad, will be added also.

Never happening mate. I'm glad you arent a decision maker at the club either. No guarantees any of those 4 are ready for first team football and even by your logic, with 5 brought in that's 18 players.

Good squad size that.

The new manager no matter who can't wave a magic wand to make these players better @golden_blunder .
They are just not good enough for Manchester United, and if we really are determined to get back to the top, we need to bring in at least 5 players and add some youngsters to the squad also.
We need a RB, CB, DM, box to box midfielder and a Top CF who will score 20 plus goals a season. It's my opinion Golden. Some of these players are getting big wages and are just not showing up in games.

Going by your logic, you’ve got rid of telles, who’s going to play LB when Shaw is too exhausted from carrying fat

Exactly. Your opinion. New coach might not agree

also I agree that we need around 5 players added who can instantly add something to the first team squad.

but you’re still up for turfing out 16. That I think is complete nonsense

Source:

  • Haaland is expected to cost €250M in transfer fees, agent fees, and wages.
  • Xavi & his youth-oriented project attracts Haaland to Barcelona.
  • If Barcelona close the deal with CVC, they should have the funds to make this (and other transfers) possible.
  • Barcelona believe City are the best-placed team to get Haaland.
    • Guardiola plays a major part in attracting Haaland.
    • Barcelona's current financial constraints (before CVC deal) also plays a part.

Waste of money, absolutely nowhere near worth €250m, any team that pays this is bonkers. No player is. Will be on the move inside of 36 months as Mino decides he needs another yacht and his dad needs another Fjord.

We will never get back up with the top teams unless we get rid of the deadwood and give some of these youngsters a chance. Along with this we need to spend well in the transfer market instead of throwing the lot at 1/2 players.
Yes, and you don't have to be a smart guy to know what we need. No I'm not a decision maker, or I can't predict what is going to happen, but how do you know what or what is not going to happen either. We are all HOPING mate.

OK and that's Your opinion. Let's see how many goes in the next window. If not 16, I would definitely go for 12.

I know for a fact that we are not getting rid of 16 first team players this summer, it would be suicide and also not logistically possible. A summer like you've described would leave a squad of 18 players of which 4 are essentially academy players - do you seriously think that is a good plan? Not having a go I just don't think you've thought it through.

Also baffled at how you've decided to retain Maguire on that list, he'd be the first out of the door for me.

Yes, I thought about Maguire also. Maybe all 16 I have named will not all go together this summer, but they have one foot out the door and over the next 2 windows they will be gone. I would say 11/12 could go in summer. There is 5/6 sitting on the bench every other week who will never get a game here, no matter who the manager. Then there is 5/6 who's contracts are up. If we use transfer funds wisely we can bring in a few very good players on free contracts, and others who wouldn't cost us a fortune.

Right now it's too late. Most players who are free or in the last year of their contract have already negotiated or are about to close deals.
United are without a coach and it is not known who he will be.

This indecision will cost another lost year.

I am joking, but he is slightly injury prone and youve left us no cover and no proposal how to cover that
I'm hoping same as everyone, that we can cover for him in whoever we bring in, or system we play under new manager. If we use transfer funding well we can bring in a few on a free, as well as some who won't cost us an arm and a leg.@golden_blunder

Don't know about that. Arnold has been speaking to some agents but we will not know who until end of season. Keep hoping mate.

Maybe he's a candidate to fill Bayern's vacancy?

I’m just going by the ones you suggested above

Haven't Dortmund been shipping goals for fun this season? Apart from a decent pass completion %, I'm not sure he's an upgrade on Varane/Lindelof.

So you want to judge the quality of individuals by the output of a system of 11 players? Not my kind of analytical approach.

Yeah if he's a central part of a defence shipping 5 at home to Leverkusen, 4 to Rangers, 4 and 3 to Ajax (both of which I watched). Don't see how he can escape scrutiny or indeed be playing well.

Just remember that should you not make top 4, you will not have much of a transfer budget from the Glazers and all those leaving because of the contracts being up don't help, and the ones you say are not good enough are never going to get contracts from other teams to match Man Utd. If you had 12 going out, how many do you think you can sign with a 50M budget with very little coming from player sales?

There will be about 15/16 players heading out so I believe we must bring in 6 players at least. The rest will have to come up from academy and under 23s.

Players Out-:
Henderson
Jones
Bailly
AwB
Telles
Pogba

I am even probably missing someone here as there are others who want to go, and then there is some on loan who could be sold also. We are really in a state, and this club should have never been allowed to go down to this extreme with transfer renewals for players not wanted, and players brought in for positions that we didn't need to fill, while other more important positions were Ignored. (midfield). It's a disgrace, we are a laughing stock, and we will now need to rebuild almost a whole team and squad.
Am I making this up or is this not close to all of the 23 man squad that mourinho had too, minus Sanchez and Lukaku?

How this has continued since then with these players still here shows the state of our club and a hard reset is definitely needed.

Add to that Maguire and Shaw not being good enough we are literally left with:

DDG, Varane, Dalot, McT and Sancho as recognised starters. 6 brand new first team starters is need alongside 6-9 quality players to use a rotational players.

That's much too much for 1 window, we are looking at, at least, a 2/3 year rebuild, the only man I see fit for purpose for this kind of thing is Ten Haag with the job he's done at Ajax he needs to be the main target.

The reason Barcelona are looking at Mazraoui more closely is because of the Azpilicueta situation. Chelsea aren't happy with how Barcelona are handling this transfer (no details provided, sadly), and they're willing to pull the plug on letting Azpilicueta go.

Another profile that the club is following closely: João Palhinha, from Sporting de Portugal. When Thomas left in 2020, Atlético made an offer for Fabián Ruiz, whose contract ends in 2023 and will not be renewed. At the moment there are no ongoing negotiations.
Atleti will go for a means to replace the departure of Héctor Herrera. Kamara, true objective, as reported by @Santi_J_FM . Complicated by an economic issue because he is free in June and has high expectations: the race is open. The player rejected the offer from the rojiblancos in January.

The Foot Mercato article
Info: Atlético Madrid is pushing to sign Boubacar Kamara.
• The verbal agreement reached last winter still stands.
• Diego Simeone validated the track.
• Manchester United and Newcastle are still interested.

Manchester United, however, is behind because of the uncertainty on the new manager, with Santi naming Pochettino our priority.
