The agents work for the players, and if they got an offer from a club they like and the economic offer is good then they will accept it.
Obviously there will be players who will wait until the end of the season but the options are greatly reduced.

You have the cases of Zakaria who signed for Juventus 6 months after the end of the contract.
Sule with Dortmund and it seems that Christensen with Barcelona. And there will be more cases being announced little by little.
There's a reason the majority of deals don't happen until the seasons ends. You can't use exceptional cases to combat my point. There is no reason to panic right now regarding players being snapped up.

Isn’t he t1 for psg? Big if true, but who would sign him or even be able to afford his financial packet
He's a very reliable investigative journalist in general. On the news itself, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle United inquire about him. Neymar would boost their international profile a ton.

Would be like Robinho signing for Mancity. Newcastle will offer insane wage for Neymar

Don't they have a rivalry with Newcastle now?

But it would make sense, kind of like City signing Robinho I guess!?

Not in a footballing sense, no, but I wasn't thinking about the geopolitical rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. If they don't have much a market for Neymar, though, I can't see them keeping him around just because Newcastle's the only potential suitor.

I just can't think of other clubs that'd want him. Barcelona are only bringing in older players as free agents, and they'll be focused on bringing Haaland in. Man. City won't touch him given how expensive he'll be. United might go after him only if they can afford it. Chelsea have other things to worry about at this time. The rest of the teams (Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, etc.) won't go for him for various reasons.

Yes hes that bad, and no we shouldn't go anywhere near him
He's not bad though, that's just not true and his perceived lack of work rate is over stated. I wouldn't want to make him out top earner, but he is still absolutely quality and would improve out attack.

I actually blanked about the Saudi takeover until you reminded me. I agree with your conclusion, although maybe one of the Chinese teams would conclude that its worth paying the foreign player tax to try to bring him in, and it’s not like he hasn’t won everything there is in club football. I have faith in our new football administration that we won’t be suckered into bringing him in. (Cue Fab “Neymar to United here we go” tweet)

Hes is missing half the season. So yes he is that bad

According to Marca hes on about $800k/week. Even if he were to halve his salary (highly unlikely) he’d still be second highest behind Ronnie.

City will be the defacto Manchester team for south americans in a decade or two. they probably already have a huge following on the back of winning so much, but they. always sign south american players too, which helps.

hate to see it

It's the advantage of buying up so many clubs and understanding the local/regional talent. You have boots on the ground and you can move/traffic players around to different clubs and that's just shuffling money around with the parent/holding company. Similar to what RB Salzburg does with RB Leipzig. CFG has Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay. Then loan them out to America at NYCFC or are European club in Spain (Girona), Belgium (Lommel), or France (Troyes). CFG own 10 football clubs around the world. It's insane.

Wouldn't surprise me. He's played 13/27 Ligue Un games this season and 6/8 Champions League games this season. This pattern seems to be repeated over his career there. His Ligue Un appearance stats are 20,17,15 & 18 so he's very much a part timer in the league. He looks past his best to boot. Hard to view him as being worth his astronomical wages at this point.

A few days ago they were also rumored to bid almost 180 million euro for Atletico Mineiro itself.

This should never have been allowed to be fair. RB and City take it to an extreme level, but also Udinese/Watford etc, have made co-owner ship of clubs, like its franchise restaurants.

It’s a really clever business model. We’re just jealous because our club wouldn’t try to be that ambitious.

Ignore the fact that Falk's Tweeting this; the info's coming Tobi Altschäffl, who's a reliable journalist for Bayern Munich news.

Oh for fecks sake. Will we never learn with this? You’d think after half dozen over-30y/o good but peaked forwards never really elevating the team, that maybe we should try different approaches?

Cant wait for Benzema next year, Kane after that etc

Some extra info from Rich Fay on Moussa Dembélé:

Apparently, Dembélé is being targeted as a Cavani replacement and is being considered as a squad option rather than a starter. Rangnick wants United to sign a younger striker in the summer, which hints at Cavani being likely to leave the club.

I think it's a certainty that Cavani leaves this summer, he's been very unreliable this season with his injury record and poor performances when fit.

Our interest may well be geniune and he's still got a couple of top level years in the tank. But he's not moving to a club outside the CL.
