Contract issue: two players who end their contracts in June 2023. Thomas LEMAR wants to stay and will renew: it is a matter of time. The club is also negotiating with the representative of Jan OBLAK, but there is still a lot to do. The parties will keep talking.

Messe Lingod?

imagine a Barca with Lingard, Depay and de Jong as their front 3

Depay isn’t that laughable anymore I guess, but put in Lingard - de Jong and Braithwaite instead.. that’s really something. Looks like Watford on a good day.

Does this mean they will have to pay Pedri 1 billion if they terminate his contact for any reason.
No it doesn’t. They would have to pay off the remainder of wages owed for the months and years he had left on his contract at the time of termination. This is simply a clause put in because every player basically needs one in la Liga and only applies to any club trying to buy him without negotiating a fee with Barca.

Sterling's quotes:
If there was the option to go somewhere else for more game time I would be open to it. As I said football is the most important thing to me. Challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well. As an English player all I know is the Premier League and I’ve always thought, you know, maybe one day I’d love to play abroad. See how I would come up against that challenge.

I’m not a person that’s going to complain. I’ve not tried to make it a bigger deal than it actually is. I get on with my work. Do what I need to do. And I’m just raring to go. Playing football matches regularly. Scoring goals regularly. From a young child, football has been the most important thing in my life. My most happiest I should say. When I play football that is where I get my happiness from. And, of course, with family as well but football for me has a special place in my heart. With everything that comes with football, money, being able to do nice things…at the end of the day, if football for me is not at a certain standard I’m not really at my happiest. If I want my happiness at a certain level I need to be playing football. I need to be scoring goals and enjoying myself.

Keeping humble, keeping that hard working spirit, chasing the next goal. Making targets, trying to do better than I did last season. Trying to get better numbers than I did last season. Keeping that hunger. Keeping that in your stomach. That’s the only way you can get better from here.

That makes sense, but why would a player agree to such a ridiculous value? I know the players love the club and all but surely their agents should negotiate the value down to something reasonable? It gives the club too much power over the player in my opinion

The same reason any other player signs a contract without a (realistic) release clause: the club offers enough money..

Makes sense. We have Lindelof and Bailly fit and McTominay can do a job there. Maguire will be back soon. Varane within 1-2 months.
You’ve managed to change Utd’s statement of a few weeks to a few months

Chiesa being actively touted by Liverpool and Chelsea, does this have any traction in the UK circles? Point is, PL clubs usually make an offer to the club and then speak to the player once it is accepted, while in Italy you get an informal agreement with the player first and then approach his club for the fee. It seems a you first, me first game at the moment… just offer the player 3x his current wage and he will surely go to Agnelli and ask for same or sale…

Not anymore, I think all clubs now approach players via intermediaries, usually their agents and sound out how much they'd pay them to move. Once the agent accepts it after speaking with their client, the club will then speak to the parent club of said player.

I don't always find Rob Dawson to be reliable, but he does have his links, so here you go.

I'd think Milan would be a good fit for him. It's a prestigious club, a move abroad can be good for him and he won't be put in a cauldron of pressure as he would at Barcelona

None of the reliable journalists in the British media have reported on any Chelsea or Liverpool interest in Chiesa. Even Romano has debunked those rumours on multiple occasions, and on top of that, none of the more reliable Italian journalists have reported on any English or German (i.e Bayern Munich) interest.

Ousmane Dembélé. One of the two most expensive signings in the history of Barça can leave for free next year. The club would save the salary. Today it is a real possibility because there is NO agreement with his representative about the renewal.

More on Sterling:

We have been reporting it for a long time: Barça thinks about Raheem Sterling and is still attentive to how that market option evolves. Pep has spoken of him: “He is a very important player, we will see what happens. I want satisfied players. If they are not, a decision will have to be made."

Vlahovic's reps at FirenzeViola [local news outlet]: “He will not sign any renewal. This summer we brought you [the club] an offer of €60m + variables, there was an agreement between us and the buying club (Atlético), but Commisso did not want to listen and responded by saying that he is like a son to him”.

Official: young full back Josip Stanisic signs a new contract with Bayern Munich until 2025.

Waiting for the inevitable "Ole has not been backed" comments.

All of Tolisso, Marc Roca, and Mickael Cuisance were available and affordable even for a club of humble means like Utd

Marcel Sabitzer cost 15m €. Van de Beek more than twice that.

Laughable stuff.

He's had the board get him the world's most expensive CB plus one of the best in the game, one of the most expensive RBs, an absolute world class signing in Bruno, arguably the best wing prospect in the game currently and one of the best to ever play football full-stop. And that's not including Cavani, Telles or Amad.

They even bought him what was one of the most exciting CMs in Europe.

So, I'm sorry, as much as we clearly do need a CM, I have little to no sympathy for Ole if this is true. If he's so desperate for a CM, why not try playing the one the board actually got him.

I for one actually welcome these leaks first the dreaded vote of confidence then this I believe Solskjaer is about to be put out of his misery along with us soon.
