He put in an intentionally hard tackle. But he never ended Haaland’s career. In fact, Haaland played a friendly for Norway 4 days later. He did undergo surgery the following summer but it was for his other knee.

What has Ole won as a manager? When he was in the final of the europa league and had a chance to win his first trophy for Utd as a manager what did he do to win the game? Nothing. Doesn't have what it takes to become an elite manager. Cant make the changes required in real time during a game. Plays his favourites even if they are oit of form or need of a rest. Shall i go on?
I'm not saying he's a bad manager, hes just not at the elite level. Tuchel, Guardiola, Klopp have all won the CL and league titles in the top divisions. Ole aint won anything.
We are making progress in that i agree, but does Ole really have what it takes to land the trophies? When team play a low defensive block and dont allow space behind for lighting fast transitions whats his plan b or plan c?
We all saw how hopeless Martial is as a point striker last season, greenwood was excellent against leeds in that role so what does he do against villa? Push greenwood out to the wing and play useless Martial as the point striker. We're chasing the game, need to win it, instead of bringing on someone like DvB he brings on Matic. We drop 2 points.
That sums up Ole. A failry decent manager, helping the club go in the right direction but not an elite manager capable of making the decisions that add up to trophies at the end of a season.
I imagine that the demands will be huge, whoever signs him is getting a world class player on the cheap because he had the foresight to insist on a release clause so i think he's entitled to expect to get a split of the savings since the club wont have to pay 200 mil for him. The thing he probably didn't expect was the ongoing impact of the Pandemic, Barcelona being in a bad way financially, PSG being stacked with stars and Madrid going all out on Mbappe. I don't know if he can demand 800K when the only clubs in for him are likely to be United, Liverpool, Spurs, Juventus and Bayern.

I disagree. We need to keep pumping world class players into the team to balance the deficiencies of the mediocre manager we have, otherwise we will drop out of top 4.
Like any other player, and particularly one moving from Bundesliga, there is no guarantee that Haaland will be a hit here. He might just be a 20goal striker, which is not bad, but not worth paying 800k/week for. I would be wary.

Considering that the families are friends, I doubt if the Keane- Haaland incident ( which didn’t end his career incidentally) will have a bearing on where he ends up. Think Ole backing off slightly due to the relationship will have a positive effect long term

Very well laid out. It's true, he has not shown he has a plan "B". Just buy the best players that we can get and hope for individual brilliance to win. Where is the coaching on the training ground? Where is his stamp on playing style? He has been in charge of the team long enough to stamp his playing style and display some tactical acumen.
The game against Southampton proved a point. Towards the end of the game, McT provided a glorious pass from the right after a throw-in, there was just one United player on the edge of the penalty area, just one! He should be drilling it into the players to get into the box, especially towards the end of the game, if they don't, don't play them.
Also, the passing in the game, even from the supposed skilled players was a joke.

Their net spend in the last 10 years (including this window) is around €160m (according to transfermarkt). Even with the crazy money they spent when they brought Hazard and Jovich.
I love Ronaldo and I don’t think he’ll end up going to city but we are kidding ourselves if we think he loves us as much as we love him.
Some players, Evra of the top of my head, go all in and become United through and through but Ronaldo always had Madrid in his heart.

We can continue to blame previous managers for the state our squad was in, but you cannot blame them for the lack of playing style or tactical awareness. We are simply relying on individual brilliance or hitting on the counterattack. Ole has been in charge long enough to stamp his authority on that aspect of management.
