Chelsea offloading Zappacosta & Zouma whilst City offload B.Silva & Laporte?!

Both teams funding a continuous squad refresh cycle that upholds a minimum level of performance continuity. They offset the marquee acquisitions whilst we just take the hit… they’re even offloading players of a higher quality than our deadwood (arguably even our first XI with city).

Our supporters think a DM here and a few other plugs there will make us competitive. Wake up. Without trophies to catalyse things it’s going to need to be so much more fundamental.

The theme I keep reading is that we’ll struggle to further reinforce without sales. The contract re-structure is such an elaborate, complicated and long term process that I can’t see us breaking the back of the short-term issues before the mid-terms become imminent, until we take a more ruthless approach with some of the senior players. We’re too forgiving and giving too many chances to the likes of Martial, Pereira, Bailey etc to hold form, and God knows why Jones gets such loyalty.

We can all see this clearly and have done for some time so I really don’t understand why the club don’t see it, or what impediment there is to addressing this.

He obviously wants to come to you, why not wait and save for money for other players?
Because we've been waiting years, saving money for this

If we sign Mbappé, we're likely to win the league and are among the favourites for the CL. If we don't, we're not even favourites to win the league, nevermind the CL

I don’t think you’ll win the CL even with Mbappe

0 goals, 0 wins, knocked out in the Carabao Cup by Watford, yet we're considering sending Amad to Crystal Palace? Everything I thought could go wrong for Vieira at Palace is happening.

At this stage, the interest is one-sided. Crystal Palace want him, but we don't know if United are okay with sending him out there.

When Haaland is looking like a rumoured 50m signing bonus even when paying his release clause next year, what do you think Mbappe is going to ask for with no transfer fee.
Old man yells at cloud moment, but feck me football is abhorrent these days

It's nuts. 160m for a player who could join them for free next season.

Not sure why PSG is not accepting that. Player want the move and is not accepting your contract. They also don't really need him now with Messi. What's the point in keeping a player who doesn't want to play in your team?

Maybe, but our chances increase massively with him
Do Kroos and Modric have the legs for another deep CL run? When we played you this last season we ran your midfield ragged and your defense (with Varane and Ramos) were all over the place as well. Kante and Mount feasted using their energy.

Even with Mbappe you guys don’t really look like one of the favorites this season.

They can afford not to bother.

What if Mbappe signs a new contract? Anything can happen in football and Real can't risk fecking around. They have the money for it so why not go for it? They have not been at the top of their game for a while now.

  • Mendes approached Manchester City.
  • Juve want €25-30m.
  • City want to sell Sterling before they go for Cristiano Ronaldo.
  • Juventus are interested in Gabriel Jesus as part of the deal, but Guardiola still wants him in the team.

Atalanta are still going after Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, but Napoli are also in the hunt for him.

West Ham can't afford Lingard, but they can afford Zouma. Tells you how sincere they are in negotiating with us.

Not really, they have a budget. They prioritized a position and decided how much they’re willing to pay. And that has an impact on what they’re willing to spend on the other position. Which is not to say we have to accept what they said about Lingard at face value. It just means the two things are dependent on each other.

We were dead when we played you last season. Shortened season(playing every 3 days) and a million injuries. We are a bit light in terms of depth, but this season shouldn't be quite that bad. We'll see

160 million means nothing to Qatar, while one year of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar means a lot.

Not sure why fans are getting mad at WH anyway, they don’t have to buy him
