To be fair it would be the same regardless of a major tournament. I'm actually surprised July when the window goes until 31st August.

I have so little faith in our club off the pitch that I wouldn't be shocked if the league has already started before we finalise deals.

This was always going to be the case. The Euro Championship final is on 11th July. A lot of dominoes are going to fall around Europe, with most oney changing hands after this date. United won't be the only team this is true for.

Not exactly a good source. Im sure if he is not signing he’ll be sold

No it’ll be a circus all next season, cryptic tweets and hints at extending. Then off to Real to take Bales wage space. The. The spin will all be about how the club couldn’t match his ambition etc.

Yup just look what happened to ac Milan and raiola this season. It'll be a repeat

I mean we aren't going to spend shit after splashing the cash for Sancho so no surprises there.

We will still go for a CB IMO and thats a about it, just not Varane. I know Ed is still dumb enough to fall for Varane, but i hope we go for other CB targets

Any other concrete links to CBs? Maybe we'll chose to just continue with Maguire, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Bailly for the season.

50M fee + Varane wages would get you a pretty good midfielder if we chose to focus on that area instead.

Romero has left,

Edit: And Joel Pereira also actually
So? That still leaves 3 other first team keepers. Romero out and Heaton in means we still have 4 first team keepers.

I’m not including Pereira because he hasn’t been at the club and there’s no need to replace him.

If not Varane then Pau Torres, 100%

Lee Grant's contract expires at the end of the month.

Varane would be a fantastic signing but I think we're all rightfully cautious of any transfer links, once there is somebody lined up to partner Maguire I'll be satisfied.

Would be unusual for us to let someone leave for free who has that type of resale value
We let Romero go for free because we didn't get the £8m transfer fee even though he was never going to get minutes and cost the club 4 million in wages. Let's not talk about the Darmain situation. I always wonder if this club is run by dumb and dumber.

Oh well. If true, this makes our search for an experienced CB of this profile (quick, ball playing, competent aerially...) tougher

TBF He has won everything there is at club level. Cruising in France with PSG and getting super star wage is definitely attractive from his POV.

As long as it's not fecking Ben White for the same amount of money. Whether that story is true about Varane I never saw him coming here anyway.

I just pray we are looking at midfielder to replace McTominay and Fred.

Our second choice was always Pau Torres, wont be a long search

If the 50m euro release clause is correct on Torres we should trigger it. He looks to be the cheapest option although he may want to stay in Spain.
