Am I the only one who thinks Mings wouldn't be a bad signing? Yes , he is not elite but definitely not a poor signing. He has come leaps and bounds .
Konate is way too injury prone. Kounde is too light and have doubts regarding his adaptability (could just be another Lindelof)
You, Tyrone Mings, and Tyrone Mings' mother. So, that's at least 3 people.

I dont agree with the rest and I dont think Mings is ideal, but I do think he'd be an improvement over the Lindelof and Maguire partnership. He's quick, Villa have a good defensive record this season, left footed which could be useful and can play a bit with the ball and can win a header. He's not a very aggressive defender but he does get some blocks in.

If it was for a reasonable fee I wouldnt be upset but a reasonable fee would be like £30 million. And we're usually asked to pay way over the top of a reasonable fee and he isnt good enough for us to do that

Do you reckon we will still go for a CDM type player too because think we still need a proper number six who is pretty damn good on the ball and capable of taking it from our CB's
I don't think so. We've barely seen decent links to midfielders over the past few months (even last summer). I think that we'll only strengthen that area if we sell Pogba this summer. Otherwise, we'll look for a new CB, a backup right back (if both Williams and Dalot still aren't good enough), and maybe a new striker if we don't extend Cavani's contract.

Jorginho's agent João Santos:
Sarri again at Napoli? Football is dynamic, nothing can be excluded. If Sarri returns, they might make some attempts to bring Jorginho back too. He likes him, he’s perfect for his [manager’s] game. I don’t exclude anything.

He [Jorginho] still has two years on his contract with Chelsea. He is a starter with the Italian national team, [and] with a good project he would return to play in Italy.

Yeah the lack of any concrete links to any is worrying to say the least, think the reason for that is because there has been no real suggestions that Matic is going to leave in the summer

Would be delighted if we could get either of the first two but don't know a lot about Carmo so hard to comment on him, in regards to Mings he has looked good for Villa but think we should be targeting someone better

Matic leaving can help us, but will he give us enough money to spend on someone else? Probably not. If we need to adequately strengthen multiple areas, we need to look for loans with purchase options/obligations, but United will have a tough time finding those deals with how much we've talked about our "financial strength".

That (and the majority of our summer transfer activity) is dependent on Pogba. Besides that, I'd prefer if our DM links remain on the down low so that we can get some good deals.

Yeah - It will be 3 signings- a CB, RB and a RM.
If Pogba leaves, we might sign a midfielder.

Funnily enough, United have barely been linked to right wingers ever since Amad arrived at the club. The Sancho link is only because Dortmund have made Sancho for sale and not because United might necessarily push for him.

We'll see if that continues to be the case in the summer, but I think we might sign a new striker ahead of a right winger if we don't extend Cavani's stay with us.

The interest is mainly based on the fact that Schlotterbeck's contract is running out, so he'd be a cheap punt for Everton.

Major development on Upamecano:

Dayot Upamecano has chosen his next club. It will be Bayern Munich unless the situation turns around. An agreement has been reached. Bayern will pay the Leipzig player's [release] clause.

EDIT: Romano chimes in with a few more details

Oh what a surprise. A highly rated player goes to a successful big club, how predictable.

I wanted this lad but after seeing him against us and a few other times I don’t think he’s all that special.

I’m sure he will do well but I’m not overly concerned with losing out on him (if we were interested.)
I’m devastated...

Sancho can play on both wings.

That's always a plus, but there's barely been anything from sources like Dawson and Luckhurst about us chasing Sancho. Everything's coming from the German media, and they're speculating on it based on the fact that Sancho's for sale and that we'd continue to monitor him.

Why do we think Pep doesn’t want him as his LB? Not suited to a back 4?
Maybe he just wanted more guaranteed playtime than anyone can reasonably expect in a high-rotation team like City.
