German football is like some bizarro world compared to English football. High profile players and managers moving between league rivals mid-season.

It‘d be like Utd poaching Rodgers from Leicester and him joining us at the end of the season and Kane agreeing to move to Man City at the end of the season. Leicester and Spurs would undoubtedly tell Utd and City to go feck themselves in those scenarios, let alone doing it mid-season.

I wouldn't say bizarre, but definitely not something am used to either. Italian clubs take it to another level.

Rose had a buyout clause in his contract I think, as did Upamecano. Chelsea and Liverpool also went for Upamecano but Bayern made themselves the more attractive proposition.

Your angry crusade against Ole is making your posts laughable. Of course he doesn't want Mings over that lot.

The thing that makes me angry is the fact he keeps making the same selection mistakes and is too stubborn to change, one thing you certainly can't brand me is a flip flop because I felt he shouldn't have been appointed on a permanent basis in the first place. However that isn't his fault and was down to our toy story puppet getting all caught up in the euphoria of that win in Paris. The sensible thing was to just wait until the end of that season and then because he didn't make top 4 part ways amicably.

Whilst I’m not the biggest fan of Maguire, I think it’s more important for us to get a ball-playing deep midfielder a la Carrick, who focuses on good positioning, reading of the game and anticipation, as well as being able to go long or short quickly in transition.

Are there any obtainable midfielders in that mould?

I would prefer that our defenders give the ball to that deep midfielder. Whilst our defenders aren’t the worst on the ball, Maguire holds on to it for far too long (imo). We’ve seen good long balls from Lindelof, but he doesn’t do it often and consistently enough. Bailly is clearly very comfortable with the ball at feet but he’s not in the team consistently enough because of his injury issues.

I also don’t quite like that we have to play McFred together.

We also cannot take the risk and go into next season with the possibility of both Martial and Rashford continuing their poor form.

On Bayern and their search for a new midfielder:

  • Camavinga and Neuhaus are their two main options
  • Zakaria's contract expires in the summer of 2022
    • Plettenberg suggests that Bayern could target him
    • Zakaria's advisor is the same person who brought Sané to Bayern Munich from City
  • Midfielders on their way out:
    • Javi Martínez
    • Mickaël Cuisance (though Marseille aren't too keen on exercising his purchase option)
    • Corentin Tolisso
    • Tiago Dantas (returning to Lisbon)
  • Marc Roca is just a squad player

Pedrerol said yesterday that Madrid would not pay more than 9.
I hope that is the case. 12 million seem too much.
I would like to know why he has not signed, if it is something stopped by both parties (Ramos) or if he started an auction throughout Europe

If Zakaria contract is up next summer, I hope we're in for him, would be a great signing for DM.

Awaiting some strong links to United, what a player he's going to become.

Seemingly he's hyped has died down having a Sancho season statistically good but could have his head turned. If Madrid are very likely unable to afford him we should consider.

He could have had €9m net at Bayern as well. Therefore I would guess that it will take more to sign him.

Around the same age as Greenwood, so it's very understandable. I think he's Real bound, but with Zidane going at the end of the season (or so I expect) then who knows...

Would La Razón be reliable? I've seen them post various reports with most of them not necessarily coming to fruition.

His release clause is 90 million Euros according to that Sport Witness article.
It seems La Razon are citing The Daily Mirror as the source of United offering 70m.

Surprisingly, André Silva is on United's striker shortlist.

He looked promising at Porto but hasn't really made a mark beyond that, his numbers are good for this season but I think we'll extend Cavani and then try for Haaland in 2022.

And that's what makes purchasing him a questionable decision. He's great on the ball, but does he have the potential to be defensively good?

I think his all round game is very good but for that kind of outlay you'd usually want proven, consistently world class, however we set the table with what we paid for Maguire.

Seems like Bayern know they can get him at any time they want and are just exploring the Camavinga option first.

Whether it's Pau Torres, Kounde, Konate or Milenkovic, i just hope we choose the right one. After splashing 80M on Maguire, we have to get this one absolutely right. I won't blame the Glazers for not sanctioning another centreback in two or three years time if we get this one wrong

AS talk about Real Madrid scouting David Carmo and mention Manchester United having been interested in him for a while.

The Premier League has always attracted me. Everyone knows I’ve been a Manchester United fan since I don’t know when, since I was a little kid, but I’m in Gladbach. I feel good, everyone is happy with me. If one day I have the opportunity to go to England, I will think about it, but for now, I’m fine here.
