Yawn! Do shut the feck up the Pogbas.
That's a seperate point, and not the one being discussed.Look, I dont care players nationality and I have no affinity to British players either. We work in a tight budget and we cannot always overpay. Sancho is an elite talent but with Maddison I dont know if he is worth that much. He is vastly overrated here for sure.
Exactly.Honestly I think the British FC idea is BS. I think it's simply a question of wanting players that understand the responsibility of wearing the badge and playing for the club. Doesn't matter what nationality the player is, they have to WANT to play for this club. Maddison, Sancho, Rice and co. also happen to be excellent prospects - would love to see them come next summer. CL qualification is critical especially for someone like Sancho who could have his pick of elite clubs if he were to move.
United have not been put off pursuing Sancho despite the 19-year-old agreeing a new long-term contract at Dortmund in August. They expect Leicester to value Maddison, 22, at between £70m and £80m.
Other British names on Solskjaer's hit list include Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff, Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson and Stoke defender Nathan Collins.
I think the British core is important because they'll get United more and then you eliminate that temptation that they would want to smell the roses in a different league or to a rival. We are a big enough club that we should never be a vehicle, rather the pinnacle and should only lose players because we want to do so. I'm not saying sign exclusively British, but I've if we could land a trio over Maddison, Rice and Maguire after landing James, AWB & Maguire, who've all shown promise, then I think that's just signing the right players period. It would indicate a step in the right direction and a plan. We've just re-signed Dave for the long run, hopefully we can get something similar out of Pogba.
All depends on us getting top four this summer. Pogba ain't staying another year in Europa and Sancho will not join us. It's probably our most important year post Fergie IMO.
If this is British FC, by god, what were the Busby Babes eh?
In absolute terms, what were they? What launched a 1000 ships? What made Manchester United? What story was told?A team from over half a century ago from an era where lots of players stayed at one club for their whole careers and hardly anyone country hopped bar South Americans and lots of people had to go down to the bottom of their yards with some newspaper when they needed a shit, things have moved on a lot since then.

This would be nice.
I was at the second of these games, and while he scored in that game, it was was an absolute gift of a goal. Lyon were awful though so he really didn't get much of the ball at all so not much to go on. He laid it off a few times that was decent. But not enough to to judge much he can lead the while. Substituted in the second half too for one of our old boys, Memphis Depay.
33 m per year (if it s true) would make Pogba the third highest paid player in the world after Messi and RonaldoIf that is the case, give it to him (not that I believe it)
If Pogba signs a new contract - he will get back to his best again…..but nah, I dont believe it
Don't agree. It's not like David Silva was.Tonali is not made for the English game.
Yeah but he scored….you could say the same about Aubameyang...he does very little in his matches, but he scores goals.
Been watching him lately. He is not like Silva. Maybe he'll improve, but he is not at the level required to even think of top teams in Italy at the moment.Don't agree. It's not like David Silva was.
Curious, how is Depay looking these days? Is he still shit or was that just the United curse?I was at the second of these games, and while he scored in that game, it was was an absolute gift of a goal. Yeah, I can agree with the latter. I wasn’t trying to compare them in style, just think he has some great attributes that could translate well if he can adapt.Been watching him lately. It would be totally our style to go and waste 60m on this average as feck striker.
