Isn't Wilson injury prone ?

Depends how you look at it - 58 P.L matches in the last 2 seasons and played 6 so far this season….but Before that he struggled a bit for a couple of seasons.

But I would say no...

I can see the logic in signing Mandzukic as an affordable stop-gap, but surely signing Wilson will cost a fortune?

Is he good enough to be more than a stop-gap for us? Probably, but even then, I’d expect us to be aiming higher personally.

Mertens, cavani, giroud and josip illic will all have only 6 months on their contract come January, would they not be better buys than Wilson costing a fortune or mandzukic who is not the greatest goalscorer, has no premier league experience and will be close to 34 when we sign him.

Andy Mitten saying we will go in for Mandzukic in January.

Rather him than nobody but it's hardly going to be scaring our opponents is it?

Need to buy some players who can cross a ball if we sign him.

He was available 2 months ago, but someone at the club thought they knew better, so what's changed that wasn't blatantly obvious then?

The penny has dropped for our naive management and probably ran out of time also trying to be coy on a deal.

I did hear a rumour Mario is coming the PL a few weeks ago so I bet this has been carrying on since the window shut on our slow arses.

Silly pricks could of had him in the summer but the smart idea of course was to go into the season with Rashford, Martial and Greenwood only.

I don't think the penny will ever drop with the current setup, I just think we were idiotic in the extreme this time, to go from trying for Dybala and Mandzukic, (you know a really good idea), to then saying we didn't need either of them after all because of Greenwood, and then still selling Lukaku, is just taking everyone for an idiot.

And now the club will try and pretend they are doing a wonderful thing by buying a washed up striker mid season, well they can feck off for me.

Well he can get on the end of things James can create if Martial is not there and be brought on a sub. We can't rely on Rashford or Greenwood. He can solve one problem of the many we have.

Ugh, I fecking loathe Mandzukic, we are shite enough to watch as it is but at least I like most of our players or find their presence in a United shirt irritating but inoffensive (Matic/Jones/Young/Lingard), Mandzukic is a flip flop cnut and past it, 34 in May, might as well bring Zlatan back for 6 months, at least his charisma and personality will liven things up and he can whip the young players into shape mentally.

Not shooting the messenger but if you read the article, Mitten does not say anything about us wanting Mandzukic. If anything, he says we don’t want him.

Mitten says we're gonna break our transfer policy this January and sign Mandzukic. He gives his own opinion on the player but the headline of the article is very clear.

Cavani would be fantastic for a year or two even at his age as he’s in amazing shape imo. Natural striker.

I agree that I'd much rather have Zlatan, mostly for his influence on the youth and Pogba. I think Ole might struggle with these big personalities though.

The thing is Mandzukic is a difficult personality, he had issues with Pep and Simeone, he's only going to be coming here for money and will have no match fitness as he's not being selected by Sarri, and on top of that he wont make any difference to our chances of top 4. Zlatan has a big ego but he'd be a positive influence I feel, although either option reeks of desperation and exposes our deluded summer transfer activity.

I feel like Mandzukic would probably be a pointless signing. How is a not so prolific 33 year old target man going to improve our chance creation issues? Sure, an extra body up front wouldn't go amiss but I don't think he'd make much difference.

What quote in the article says this?

Also Journalists don’t write their own headlines. The publishers write them.

So you're saying that Mitten wrote a piece on Mandzukic but let someone else choose the headline to mislead people?

If that was the case, why would he write a nothing article on Mandzukic? It's pretty clear from the article that he believes the policy of not signing Mandzukic in the summer has now changed for January.

Journalists don’t get to write the headlines. I’m sure they’d like to. They get sensationalised by the publisher. I guarantee you Andy Mitten did not write the headline.

Again, there’s not one thing Andys written in the actual piece to suggest United are interested in Manduzkic. Just they want a striker, and Manduzkic was an option in the Summer gone who doesn’t fit into Olés style.
