Well that's me told.Disagree.

How you came to that conclusion that Ole trusts them? Last season, just like this pre season he clearly preferred our mediocre average veterans. Ole talks a lot but his actions are usually complete opposite.Ole trusts them so that's good enough for me. He's in a better position to judge than any of us.
We have experienced cover for all of them though with our "dead wood"
People aren't happy no matter what happens. I can see us slowly trying to integrate the youngsters into the team alongside more experienced players.
I'm quite pleased we've potentially sorted out the defence. Perhaps next window we will look at other areas after seeing how the kids develop. People expecting us to solve all our problems in one window are mental. Introducing half a new team in one fell swoop is often a recipe for disaster. We could have perhaps signed a midfielder, but if the players we want aren't available, why waste money?
Klopp is now being praised for that sort of approach, as in hindsight it worked out well. We're being lambasted for it.
The back 5 is sorted is it not?
Next window or two and we will complete it by getting in midfielders and forwards.
25 million? Deal of the century
For who? Dybala? It was the image rights problem that reportedly scuppered that deal, and Spurs. That's banking on them wanting to come to us like we've struggled with this window. We're taking a huge huge risk. Hopefully it pays off.
Only on Twitter and internet forums. At the ground, they'll be cheered every time they pick their nose.
Happy to promote Greenwood, until it doesn't work out and we're left relying on Martial and Rashford. That'll go down fantastically well!Ole happy to promote Greenwood....but still wastes last couple of days negotiating for a grandad to get in his way and yet we don't focus on midfield with glaring weaknesses.
Darren Fletcher was a good player for us I have know idea who you're talking about but you're getting confused.
This weird devil's advocate thing our fan base has got going on is weird as hell.If we'd paid £150m for Maguire, that would have been better. Then our net spend would have been £114m.
Or Sessengon (if that how you spell it-cant be bothered to look it up)would have loved Tierney for £25m as back up/put pressure on Shaw. £25m is nothing.
Which is fine, but this window was surely about getting back into the top 4. Something which is extremely unlikely now looking at how the top 6 have strengthened. My personal opinion is that we have no chance. I truly believe that even just one very good midfielder would have given us a great chance at making top 4.
When we come back next summer with no champions league football to offer... we'll see more of the same. We're going to struggle.
Eriksen etcFor who? Dybala? It was the image rights problem that reportedly scuppered that deal, and Spurs.
£44m
Maguire +£80m
AWB +£45m
James +£18m
Lukaku -£74m
Rojo -£25m?
Valencia and Herrera off the wages (£200k per week combined).
Fellaini sold in January for £7m.
Take off another £15-20m or so if Zaha goes and we're looking at below £30m.

He's been rumoured to be going to Madrid for a long lime, that was a surprise to nobody.Eriksen etc
Yeah imagine signing 3 starters in one window, how would we even manage that number of people! Mental!
Again with the stupid logic that because we didn't sign a midfielder it must mean that all options were unsuitable or a waste of money.
If our scouts and manager can't identify 3 or 4 midfield targets who would be willing to come and that fit in our plans then we may as well give up.
The back 5 would be the foundations no?Aye I'm rebuilding my house - I've put some nice new carpets down, and sold the roof.
Just hope it doesn't rain before I buy a new one next year.
Chelsea have not strengthened, Arsenal are questionable. Spurs, City and Liverpool were always going to finish above us this year barring something dramatic happening.
Exactly. Sorted the defence, midfield and attack worse. Will finish 6th and Pogba and De Gea will leave. Round and round we go. Needed 2 cm and a rw this summer now we need a striker with Lukaku leavingAye I'm rebuilding my house - I've put some nice new carpets down, and sold the roof.

First of all, why would anyone remember Fred.Perhaps they got positive vibes from Pogba and decided to give Fred, remember him, the guy we spent 50 million on last year a chance along with Mctominay who had some very good performances and was arguably our best player against PSG a chance? Imagine that.
Chelsea? You mean Hazard FC? They relied on him so much last year. Pulisic is good but they have regressed like I said.Chelsea were already better than us. Yeah they've lost Hazard. Gained Pulisic who is decent. Arsenal have had a great window, you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. And the others, as you've said...
I just don't see it mate. I'm actually usually very optimistic, but it's hard to be right now. Even the teams behind us might start creeping up.
True, but we still tried to get him and failed if we believe reports. I hope you are right with your optimism for next season but I think you have to admit either way that we are taking a huge risk with the midfield and attack. Hopefully it pays off and we manage to keep hold of Pogba now. If the latter doesn't happen thenHe's been rumoured to be going to Madrid for a long lime, that was a surprise to nobody.

Second of all, you can bring Mctominay through while making first team additions to the squad. In fact it could be better for his development to not be under the spotlight and being expected to perform week in week out on the back of a handful of good games.

I think there is some degree of risk there no doubt, but I think our defence was the more pressing concern personally and I'm happy that we've sorted that.True, but we still tried to get him and failed if we believe reports. Now you're being stupid. We still have a decent team.Foundations aren't worth shit if you're sleeping on concrete for a year.
Well look at Spurs and Dybala now. Its been a complete shitshow from the Italian end and only adds credence to the story that we walked away.I feel pity for you for believing that.
Can we also acknowledge that we needed 2 midfielders this summer and got none?
If we promote Gomes aswell i'll somewhat look forward to watching games.
It's so unfortunate that he's actually in one of the positions we're stacked in.Only if we play him

Forget about today, I dread to think what the atmosphere would be like if we end up with a few early defeats in the season.
