So what? It's not sustainable, and its only sustainable as long as a myriad of factors enable it.

There are too many permutations to consider, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that £400k a week per player is not sustainable.

The bubble will burst.

Actually no you have to give some logic as to why its not sustainable. Just posting a large sum and saying its not sustainable is not an argument.

Who cares after the sharade that De Ligt went through with all the social media rubbish, all that matters is what happens come the 8th of August.

People were willing to potentially get De Ligt, even if it meant he came here for money, but someone who was the crown jewel at Juventus until Ronaldo came in is suddenly going to lose all motivation to play for his new team? Get this, no one worth their salt already is going to come to this club in it's current state. Anyone worth half an ape's shit at this club is already working on a plan B, out of here.

Step back and appreciate the big picture folks:

Dybala salary - Lukaku salary = not a huge premium to pay on such an upgrade. Dump Rojo and Darmian and all of a sudden it's nothing.

That's before we consider that the reported numbers likely include bonuses and add ons from performances.

I thought the whole point in the club making Solskjear permanent manager before the end of the season was to get head start on transfer targets and yet it's been a farce

Have you not realised we’ve been lied to yet? We were supposed to get a DoF all our transfers done before pre season and get rid of 5+ players. Everyone lapped it up at the time but none of it has happened.

That is the Google translation, but it could also mean "Looking forward to reaching an agreement that he wants with the club."

This is the translation from Di Marzios English guy:

Talks between Paulo Dybala's agents and Manchester United are ongoing, with the sides looking to reach a definitive agreement, which would give the important push forward in the swap for Romelu Lukaku. The Argentine's agents are in England, while Dybala himself recently began his return to Italy ahead of tomorrow's training with Juventus. Manchester United wants to seal the deal for Dybala, and an agreement between the sides awaits.

We are paying our goalkeeper £350k a week and paying a Barca reject £420k (or whatever the feck it is) a week for doing absolutely feck all and people here are surprised when a player who doesn't want to leave his club is asking £400k a week to move here.

We are going to bankrupt ourselves.

A salary cap has never been more required or else football as we know it is gone in the next 10 years. Guaranteed.

A convenient ignorance both in this case and the Sanchez one is the fact that we will no longer be paying Mkhitaryan and Lukaku. Dybala would probably be the equivalent of adding a £100k a week player in net terms, without paying a transfer fee either. It’s basically just having him take over from Lukaku, with a bit more money. Similarly, Mkhitaryan was on about £200k with us, and that should be offset from any astronomical figure we feel like assigning to Alexis in any given day.

Serious investment.. Must be a real talent. Looking forward to seeing the U18s

I was doing jinx for Bruno, cause I want Bruno, do not want Dybala, has Di Maria and Sanchez feeling all over him. Money, money, money... I'm tired of those kind of players.

do you think Dybala should be jumping at the chance of playing for a europa league team that finished 6th in its league, has an unproven manager, and what most consider a poor squad? that sure would have been a display of ambition, right?!

People moan that woodward is an accountant or money man but you can be sure he's in a better position to judge what is sustainable than any fan.

Id be a lot more worried to be say a Bournemouth fan, shelling out 100k a week to wilson with their tin pot sized ground and lack of any sort of commercial appeal outside of the south coast.

No I didn't buy it but it just makes jumping the gun in giving Solskjear the job before the end of the season an even more idiotic looking decision by Woodward but what's new with that prat, that was even one of the arguments the pro Solskjear supporters kept giving as to why we shouldn't have waited til the end of the season and get in a legit high quality manager, though with Woodward making decisions he probably would have chosen either another out of his depth or dinosaur manager like the last 4 have either been.

Hoping this one is right.

Now that’s an update. Paratici wouldn’t have flied to England just to have a pint, the deal is a possibility

This is what we have been waiting for. New developments

Hopefully this takes us closer. Where the hell is Lukaku anyway

Whilst it appears positive its worth noting there may be other players he can come to London to discuss. Juventus will also be wanting to clear deadwood themselves, he's been working on Keane recently, apparently Rugani and Khadeira are also linked with Arsenal, and so on.

€10m for 16 year old?

Considered the best midfielder of his current generation in France. Seems as if we're finally doing what Chelsea and City have been doing for the last decade - buying the world's best youngsters. You can usually make a profit even if they don't succeed at the club.

No, he’d wait for Everton or arsenal hierarchy to fly in. Now that’s more high profile so he handles it. Besides, perhaps Woodward can’t fly instead as he’s working on 25 deals now :)

Thanks for informing. All we can do is hope.
