There are so many better options to look at between £90m Maguire and 9 game a season Umtiti.

Like, all of them.

I see this a lot but give us a few examples of players between the ages of 24 to 28 that are a reasonable price, available and can fit straight into our team. Maguire knows the league that’s the biggest thing for me, no messing about with bedding the player in. If we get Dybala on the cheap I think we should just go for it. I’d rather have a fit Maguire than worry Umtiti’s knee will go the minute we sign him.

Levy fecked up around £150m in transfer fees from United, over Rose, Dier and Alderweireld. Players that probably aren’t even first choice now.

Levy would rather win the don’t sell to United trophy than an actual trophy.

Plus he had the cheek to ask for Martial and was immediately told to bolt.
According to @GlastonSpur Martial was mesmerised by Spuds' training facility

Fergie used to say that it was important to him that the club always thought about the best moves for the player, as in, not holding them to ransom and letting them go for cheap to a club. Look at O'shea for example he was a great servant to the club and then they let him go for cheap to somewhere that would be the right club for him.

I always used to think that we should have got more money for our old players, there was a long time when we made almost nothing on player sales. Looking back its clear now that having an exit strategy that benefits players leaving was a massive boon for players we wanted to join us.

This is basically the opposite for Levy at the moment, he is lucky as f*ck that somebody like Harry Kane seems to have no aspirations of making any dollar and has some kind of terrible agent and is happy to stay at the club because 90% of current generation of talent would have been off.

I wonder if his tactics have put any players off from signing? Knowing it'll be a nightmare to try and leave before your contract runs out must play on the minds of some players and agents.
I often wonder that too. Even Arsenal does a much better job of proactively taking care of their star players. A guy like N'Dombele is taking a bit of a risk, as Tottenham won't pay him what he could get on the market if he plays really well, and won't sell him. I imagine agents don't like dealing with him either, and would sooner push their players to other clubs.

The latest on the negotiation #Dybala - #ManUtd

'The dialogues between the agent of Paulo Dybala and Manchester United continue, in search of a definitive agreement that would then give the decisive impulse to the exchange with Romelu Lukaku. The Joya representative is still in England, while the Argentine has just started for Italy, where from tomorrow he will start training with Juventus again. Looking forward to reaching an agreement with the club that wants it.'

If it’s true that we offered him 150K then we clearly aren’t trying hard enough to convince him. That would be parity with Shaw and Lingard.

210k isn't that unreasonable when you consider Sanchez gets double.

European nations talk NET salary, not gross like UK. Dybala wants 210k = his contract is 420k.

Summary translation anyone?

Don't know how to interpret that? Translation issue perhaps.

We could probably sign Jonathan Tah and Ibrahima Konate for the price of Maguire, two of the best CB talents in Europe. Sell Rojo, Jones and Bailly (the latter will have to wait until January). I guess we could keep Smalling around as backup

Lindelof, Tah, Konate, Tuanzebe. Lovely.
Konate signed a new contract with RB Leipzig in january. They are a rich and ambitious club. I fear he would cost almost as much as Maguire

Waiting for to reach an agreement with the club[United] that wants him[Dybala]

Apparently in UK around 53% of the cost to the club goes to the taxes. So he's asking for £420k+ a week. I'd like him here as much as the next guy but if so we should tell him to get fecked.

Just under £400k according to this:

Bearing in mind that's his demands and they'd be some negotiation down;they're hardly unreasonable given what we pay our players.

Id be disappointed if we signed umtiti. Wouldn’t solve any problem, rather it would create more

We are paying our goalkeeper £350k a week and paying a Barca reject £420k (or whatever the feck it is) a week for doing absolutely feck all and people here are surprised when a player who doesn't want to leave his club is asking £400k a week to move here.

We are going to bankrupt ourselves.

A salary cap has never been more required or else football as we know it is gone in the next 10 years. Guaranteed.

Dybala is on 120 and wants 220? And Lukaku is on what 160 at either club. bit cheeky isnt it? Good player or not hes a failure last season thats being chucked out of the club. Players think they can get whatever wage they want at Utd. Another fine mess Sanchez caused.

Yet the wage bill is always under 50% of turnover.

If we get Mandzukic as well, I think that's a very good deal for us. I'd expect we top it up with £20m-ish.

Get an experienced plan B option who'd be happy on the bench.
Don't think we'd have space in the squad if we include him. Not to mention HG spaces. Lukaku counts as HG I think and we'd already be replacing him with a non-HG player.

Preferring Bailly to Smalling/Jones is one of the daftest, oddly common opinions I've seen on here this summer. Utterly baffling.

Agreed.

Smalling is a good defender, quick and our only option to counter strong aerial threats. He's also gotten much better fitness-wise.

Jones is a great natural defender who's progression has been mangled by bi-weekly injuries. If he were fit for an extended period for me he's as good if not better than any of our other options. Also prone to horrendojs brainfarts, which I also think is partly down to his stop start career.

Bailly is a lunatic who should be a beast of a CB, but can't head the ball, loses his concentration on every other attack and has an even worse injury record than Phil. Second only to Rojo for me in our pantheon of uninspiring CB options.

So what? It's not sustainable, and its only sustainable as long as a myriad of factors enable it.

There are too many permutations to consider, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that £400k a week per player is not sustainable.

The bubble will burst.

Story online that he's liked a post on Instagram telling him not to move to Utd and stay at Juve.

Or maybe he doesn't want to be seen as the bad guy. People read far too much into stuff.

Can already picture his face looking gutted in a United shirt.

If he's really not wanting to come it's really not worth forcing this through.

Yeah why should the players make the money that the game earns? They should know their place and all the money should go to their corporate overlords.

He REALLY doesn't want to be here. As much as we'd like him here. We should just steer clear. We've enough players as it is that don't want to be here or to get rid of.

Jesus it's just a random like. He REALLY could have just seen some fans passion for him and decided to give it a like.

People pay far to much attention to fan accounts, itk etc. Di Marzio has not had a negative spin on this at all.
