£90m for Maguire is such an inexplicable joke.

The most fitting analogy I've seen on this goes: It's like the girls at the disco, you start off the night eyeing up the likes of Megan Fox, Margot Robbie (Koulibaly, De Ligt), and not even noticing Harry was there. Then suddenly they leave and time is getting on - it's 2.50am now, and there's Harry, looking like that bird Anna from love island and you think yes,it's not too late! You buy her 3 cocktails, pay for her her donner kebab and drive her home in the morning, anything just to get laid. This is us.

Thanks for this brief journey down memory lane. I’m getting 80s flashbacks all around :)

any player who dares negotiate a better salary is now a mercenary

i guess everyone here works for a charity and volunteers their time to homeless shelters?

Meet in the middle and BOOM, "Here we go", etc.

I was doing jinx for Bruno, cause I want Bruno, do not want Dybala, has Di Maria and Sanchez feeling all over him. Money, money, money... I'm tired of those kind of players.

Fair enough :) I would love to see him here but I absolutely share your enthusiasm for Fernandes as you know, I think he would be magnificent.

People are being very, very, very deluded about the current state of our club if they think someone like Dybala wanting £200k+ to take the step down to come here from Juve is outrageous.

The only reason any good player would join us right now from another top club is more money. That's been the case with all our recent signings from Mata to Sanchez.

200k is frankly pretty low when you consider it's around what Herrera was asking for, and still half what we're paying Sanchez.

I think most people don't realise that it's £200k NET which would put him right up there with Sanchez.

Not sure what to believe, but it would obviously make sense that he's want to stay at Juve or go to a team with CL football.

Good player but I think we'll be buying him just because a swap is on the table with a player we've been looking to offload in Lukaku.

In terms of the system Ole looks to be going with - a 4231 system, it seems that, although Bruno/Savic aren't a household name like Dybala, they would suit the team a lot better and get the feeling that they are hungry to play for United.

That's the policy Ole has said he's going for. Hope he doesn't change now because we've got a swap on the table.

Piss of money grabbing cnut, I'm fed up with merceneries in our club. Stay where you are Di Maria #2.

Haha..... This is such bull crap news.... Pogba earns around 250k, Martial is around 200k and Rashford got bumped to 200k as well and we offered Dybala, 150k.... yeah that would definitely get him to sign ASAP. Not that I'm in favor of getting him, since I don't feel he's a good fit but that's just crap negotiation from Ed and his team (if it's true)

Bailly is much worse than Jones and Smalling.

His injury record is pretty shocking but I'd keep him over those two any day. Still be madness to let Tuanzebe go. Ideal scenario would be rotating between new CB, Lindelof, Tuanzebe and Bailly. Keep Jones as backup if we must.

Preferring Bailly to Smalling/Jones is one of the daftest, oddly common opinions I've seen on here this summer. Utterly baffling.

Not sure I get your point there, how has that hurt Spurs ?

Levy fecked up around £150m in transfer fees from United, over Rose, Dier and Alderweireld. Players that probably aren’t even first choice now.

Levy would rather win the don’t sell to United trophy than an actual trophy.

Plus he had the cheek to ask for Martial and was immediately told to bolt.

I'm fairly sure the figures being quoted above are net. Out figures usually get published gross. So he's asking close to £400k gross and we're prepared to pay maybe £300k.

How is he being a money grabber?? Considering we'd be offsetting against Lukaku's salary anyway...and it is Dybala we're getting, we're not exactly breaking the bank to close the deal, especially when he'd be on 5 years anyway.

What about all the deadwood/mediocre players stealing a living at the club?

Couldn't agree more.

Levy's negotiation skills has been way overrated on here..the only player he managed to sell for above the market value was Bale

With their reported demands, I think Leicester are trying to screw us. They have their arm around us and are currently trying to take us round the back of the club by the bins.

Imagine being labeled a money grabber when a player requests a pay bump when the self proclaimed richest club in the world is after your talents. Our fanbase is comical.

I dont think Levy is good at negotiating I think he just has a reputation as being difficult to deal with.

It all depends on how you look at it. Sure, he missed opportunities to cash in on guys like Alderweireld, Eriksen, and Dier, but even though TA and CE might leave for free, he's gotten several combined years out of them at way below market value, which has saved them a ton in wages. Had he sold Alderweireld for 40 million last year, there's no way they get a player of equal quality with that money.

I do think his methods make it extremely difficult for a manager to work under him, though. Poch has to keep unsettled players focused, and can't really expect any of the changes he wants to actually happen.

I wonder if his tactics have put any players off from signing? Knowing it'll be a nightmare to try and leave before your contract runs out must play on the minds of some players and agents.

Reports coming out so far, don't know how reliable, are saying €14m a year. That's what, roughly 28 gross? Meaning in the region of £450k a week

Also, dybala really doesn't want to leave juventus and wants to know Sarri's position(whether he's in line with the club or willing to back Dybala)

If it’s true that we offered him 150K then we clearly aren’t trying hard enough to convince him. That would be parity with Shaw and Lingard.
