Not that I think we're signing him, but apparently the super cup was always going to be his final game. The last game, would have been his last home game in Sporting's stadium, if he leaves.
I see. Still, you don't play a valuable player in a friendly if he's close to a transfer.

Really, what us real greedy muppets want to know is if there is a way and a possibility that Pogba, Fernandes and Dybala can all be part of the same team.

I never did get why people acted like he's always correct. He's the same as most other journalists. Sometimes, they just get things wrong, or fed the wrong info. He is usually better than others when confirming deals done with italian teams.

Agreed.

Ya, you should be delighted our best player is potentially leaving.

i am not delighted, it is the reality. No way we are going to bring in so many players, our squad is bloated. I would keep Pogba, but i dont see it with all these potential purchases.

If he said we weren't making any more signings and OGS was happy with his squad, you'd believe him though.

That’s not the point though - the fact that people believe a guy who “appears” to have contacts on every transfer happening in Europe is pretty ridiculous.

Yeah he's great for Italian transfers and Raiola. Rest is meh.

Yeah, he was a step away after playing his 'final' game, too. Turns out he's now going to play another one.

I get the distinct impression that both Sporting and Lazio are more interested in selling us their players than we are in buying them.

In fairness, we don't know the exact number of steps needed.

With the diamond, 4312, it should be possible. Pogba as part of a midfield three. Bruno Fernandes as a ten behind Dybala and Rashford/Martial.

I can’t see both Pogba and Fernandes in the midfield three, as someone suggested. And I do not think it is a good formation for all type of games.

Really not sure how it would work in a 4231 or 433. Maybe Dybale and Fernandes could play really narrow on each side of a striker? Not ideal.

Guys, whisper this quietly, but against all the odds, this could actually be a good transfer window for us...:nervous:

I really wouldn't start getting your hopes up too high. There's very little of genuine substance being reported that hasn't been repeated multiple times already this summer.

I want the reports around Bruno (and even Dybala) to be legit but I just don't buy either.

Thanks for the reply.

To be honest, I cannot see a way we keep hold of Pogba AND sign the likes of Fernandes and Dybala, but boy would that show some ambition and intent from the club!

The next week or so is certainly going to be interesting.

I hear you, but I personally think the Di Marzio and his team are some of the most reliable football journalists out there. I know his reputation has taken a bit of a hit this summer, but I believe he does have great contacts within the game and his latest updates sound pretty definitive.

Football is so volatile that things change so quickly.

Could be that the intent with signing Fernandes and Dybala is after convincing Pogba to stay another year.

When it comes to Serie A he's as good as it gets and as somebody else pointed out, Sampdoria have a sell on clause for Fernandes so I'm guessing that's where his information came from that a deal was close.

Ok. We are getting Dybala, Fernandes and Maguire.. and keeping Pogba.
I wonder if this was fed to Pogba at the start of the window, which is why he now seems happier to stay.

Remember the story broke that he wanted to know United were going to be ambitious, and if they weren't he would leave. I guess this is the riposte to that.

He's good friends with Dybala also from his Juve days, so what's not to like?

I think it should be very apparent that Maguire and Fernandes are the only eggs in our basket and if we don’t get them, we’re getting nobody. I think all the Lukaku deal will mean is that we possibly get these deals over the line.

If he doesn't want to be here, it's not dumb.
If he doesn't want to be here, then his agent should provide a buyer ready to pay the clause in appropriate time and not after spending the full pre season with the team. It would be the dumbest move if we let him leave now, it will probably ruin our season.

No, if Fernandes comes then that’s likely the end of Pogba at United.

If we sell him, the prices for palyers would skyrocket. Look at Spurs and Bale, Spurs spent the money first and then sold Bale. We will do the same.

I’m not sure Fernandez is a replacement for Pogba? More of a replacement for Herrera. I think if we signed Savic you could say he was a replacement for Pogba...

Our transfer window closes very soon. We can get our business done, then let him leave when our window is shut.

There is time and proper planning for all that, and it's not done 10 days till the start of the season. Not after spending the full pre season here and us not bringing replacement to bed in.

Between where we are now and the end goal of a successful window, stands an enormous amount of complicated work that has to be carried out by some largely incompetent people in a very short space of time.

It could happen...

We can I am not disputing it, but it would be totally moronic thing to do. One thing is to sell Darmian/Rojo when the season starts, the other thing is selling your best player.

yeah but the selling clubs are stubborn. Mabye we planned this out months ago, but there are a lot of factors to acknowledge.

We planned this out month ago and then played Pogba all the time, Ole mentioning him as possible captain and dragging this 10 days before the season starts? I don't think so. If they planned on that, then we are fecked with such morons in charge.

Yes I don't think it's possible. It would be good just to offer Pogba a new improved deal to compensate for the lack of CL, and making him commit to the club. That should send the right message to Real.

Then we better buy up right now, and tell Real to f*** off. They are annoying.

Me neither. But if Pogba leave, we need more than just Fernandes and Dybala. We will need a proper midfielder. Milinkovic-Savic would not be surprising. Hope we manage to keep Pogba.

If we end the summer with AWB, James, Maguire, Dybala and Fernandes I will be starting a crowd funding campaign to build a statue of Ed Woodward (holding the hand of Kermit the frog just like the one of Walt and Micky) outside Old Trafford.

However, I still think the Dybala stuff is lies

Love for this to happen, but with 9 days left of the window. How will we be able to close three deals and fit three medicals in that period?
