100% respect your opinion but don't agree with it.

That’s fair enough pal. Question for you though... We sell Lukaku and don’t buy anyone, do you think we are better off? The only striker I have seen us linked with is Ben Yedder. Although he scored a couple against us, he’s a Europa league striker. Is that really what we are aiming for?

Although I want him gone. I would rather keep him than sell him and buy no-one I would personally take Ben Yedder. I think no striker at a top club should go 2 and a half months without scoring a league goal.

Are you implying Lukaku is a CL striker then?

I don't think we should sell him and not replace him at all, but he is fairly easily replaceable imo.

I think what everyone is happy about (or at least a majority) is switching to a different style of playing and buying players that suit it and selling those who do not. Selling Lukaku at the peak amount we could possibly get for him now is probably best for the club moving forward. He won't be first choice and the money could go to other areas for the first team. For instance I would be happy with selling him, not replacing him and going for a brilliant forward next summer like sancho maybe?

Yes. I'm of the opinion he's more of a hindrance over 90mins than a benefit.

Terrible mistake selling Lukaku imo.

I'm a little in between you guys, but think i'm closer to selling. Of course i prefer getting another forward in to replace him, but i think i actually prefer to see him sold either way. This simply because he never did fit our style of play. He is too heavy, not technical enough and simply not clinical enough either. Would we consider Lukaku a classical United-forward? In the mould of Yorke, Cole, Solskjaer, Cantona or Rooney? I think not, and nor do i think OGS would contemplate buying him if he wasn't already at the club.
Contrary i see Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and even Sanchez more typical to our style, and might actually be considered enough cover for what would likely be a single position. Do we think they are good enough? Maybe not, but number-wise they might be considered enough, depending on how mature they consider Greenwood to be.

Im all for the change in style etc and completely agree. But I don’t see Rashford scoring more goals than what Lukaku would. If we brought in Werner or someone like that. Then yes I’d sell Lukaku. But personally I don’t think we would sign a striker.

Squad will be paper thin (esp. with EL commitments) if we don't sign a striker after selling Lukaku. I don't think the club is that stupid.

:lol::lol: In what way is it obvious? We’ve needed a right winger for how long? A right back for how long?
Actually a disgrace we havn't gotten someone for the RW yet and most likely won't. We are about to enter another year with Sir Lingard in that position. Another summer, another shit show.

I'd not sign a striker with the Lukaku cash. I'd sign Nicolas Pepe who is more like a RF.

Rashford will be the main number 9. Martial, Greenwood and Sanchez will all be alternatives.

We can’t rely on Sanchez atall, he plays 3 games then gets Injured for 6 weeks.

If we do go for Pepe we better make it quick because if the rumours are true Everton are in for him, whether he would want to go to them is another matter.

Because they’re better strikers than Lukaku?

I did mention buying someone else.
Also for Oles system and the way he wants to play Lukaku doesnt seem to suit as we have seem. So why keep him

I'd rather keep Lukaku as an option but I can understand why he thinks he'd be better off leaving. He's underrated in this country and especially by our fans. Can look cumbersome but cannot argue with his goal record.

Manchester United have been quoted a staggering FIFTY million pound fee to sign Newcastle's Sean Longstaff.
They are ready to walk away from a potential deal for the midfielder, believing the Magpies have ramped up their asking price simply because of the Old Trafford giants' profile and spending power.
