I understand we got ourselves in the sh!te paying Sanchez all that money, I thought it was going to come to come to bite us on the ar$e at the time and still p!sses me off now. Agree we should be trying to get our wage structure down but if De Gea regain the form he showed prior to last season I think he will be worth that massive contract.

Even if he did regain form, how much will strikers (who are usually always paid the most) be asking in a couple of years time? Then the midfielders?

Then if we get McGuire at 80million quid, how much will other defenders be asking for in a few years time -- plus when we have a Darmian or Rojo on crazy salaries who can barely cobble together a dozen starts between the two of them in the last two seasons.

We could be on Arsenal-type transfer budgets (albeit self-imposed) in a few years time due to our wage constraints and FFP.

A line in the sand has to be drawn now -- we can have stratospheric wage bills if we are winning the CL every other year, then I wouldn't care. But we have the 2nd highest wage bill in the world -- or at least top 5, depending on who's counting -- but have we been a world's top 5 team for all that money spent?

United like most football clubs strives to be a profit-making organisation. We ain't a charity for sure. Therefore, the bottom-line of any organisation rest upon its CEO.

Good. He does feel a little bit like SAF. Tells it how it is and reminds everyone they are Manchester United and sets a high standard mentally.

Harsh truth is whatever we sign Maguire for, we could have got him for less last season if Maureen hadn't thrown a hissy fit.

We have missed out on some decent signings upto now with Telemiens being the main target , if true at £35m that's a bargain in today's market

Delusion. Pay the price or dont get the player and the team struggles again.

Bartomeu is going to leave Barcelona in a terrible financial state. Theybhad to use credit to pay players last season.

Cue shady real estate/property deal with the city of Barcelona on the back of the taxpayers to bail the pricks out once again.

Statement from Fenerbahçe on Ozil rumours.

Basically ruling it out then.

In recent weeks, and especially in the last few days, the necessity of providing information about the claims of Mesut Özil, which is on the agenda, to clarify the situation has arisen. Mesut Özil, with his career and stance successfully represents our country abroad, is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce. However, Fenerbahce does not have an initiative for Mesut Ozil. Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties. Our President, Ali Koç, made statements in this context during the WinWin program held on June 20 and emphasized that this could not be realized in the short term. We present it to our community and the public.

Ok but Tielemens went to Leicester unopposed, its potentially a bargain but I don't think he's the finished article yet and if none of the top 6 or any CL level club in the other big leagues took a punt then the likelihood is they don't think he's the finished article either. I also think our recruitment depends on what happens with Pogba and if we couldn't commit to a sale with his future in the balance then its understandable that Leicester got in there first.

Lukaku out, Griezmann in? Wouldn’t mind it, even if Antoine is a bit of a tool. He’s a quality tool. Might settle Pogba for a while too and give Rashford and Greenwood a few yrs to develop.

He's a disrespectful clown imo. Quality player as he is, he brings a lot of criticism on himself with his 'Le decision' type nonsense.

This sounds a bit yer da but I wouldn't want him and his 'take the L' celebration anywhere near Old Trafford.

If he did end up at United i feel he'd be looking for a way out as soon as he got in the door, like Di Maria, given he has his heart set on going to Barca.

We've now sold Fellaini in Jan, let Herrera leave for free, Pogba is linked with Juve & Real Madrid, Matic is linked with Inter and AC Milan and now Fred is linked with Roma.

Could we start the season with McTominay, Garner & Pereira? Maybe add SMS, Bruno Fernandes & Longstaff?

It would be quite a turnover.
