We OVERpaid £75 million for him, he’s not been a success, and we clearly don’t want him because he was behind Rashford under the new manager. All of these things would decrease his value.

The majority of transfers involve fees being paid in segments. How is this hard to grasp. Do you think PSG just handed over £180 million in one go for Mbappe. The loan is clearly a way around financial fair play. It’s not like we can’t spend money until we have it.
Why should we be doing them any favours? If they want him they can pay for him like anyone else. They demanded £50m for a 29 year old winger and now come with pocket change and an IOU for a proven goal scorer in his prime. They set the precedent, we set out price. If they can't match it then it's their problem.

Might be wrong but feels like for the first time in a long while that Europeans are spending more than the English clubs or at least more active. Wonder if that will change in the last month or if the English clubs (in general) have decided to give this market a miss given the ludicrous fees out there.

He was 27 at the time, and a key part of their team. Lukaku has failed at United and we’re relatively happy for him to leave.

Anyway, I know it’s not the place for non tweets, so I’m out.

It's a good offer, more than we will get from anyone else. Same as our offer was for Perisic which they foolishly rejected.

Felix just went for over 110 million, Lukaku is with what we paid for him.

60-70 million hard cash, none of this bullshit loan bollocks, like the other poster said they took the piss with Perisic so let's do the same.

Did we not offer 45m pre boom of the market? No doubt front loaded too, meanwhile they're offering 10m over two years and a further 60m after two years where that 60m could be worth much less than it is today.

The amount of money isnt the issue with me, it's the structure of it, if it was 40m upfront with an extra 30m paid over the next two years then that would be entirely acceptable.

This offer is in no way comparable to the Perisic one.

I'd rather we had someone that wanted to be here and fitted with our intended style of play than to get more money up front tbh, as long as we can still get the replacement we want.

Perisic was old. Lukaku is in his prime - and he's reportedly only looking to leave for playing reasons. Inter's offer is a pile of shite compared to what we offered for Perisic - you're comparing apples and pears.

Lukaku will score an absurd amount of goals in Serie A. He will be worth the fee asked no doubt.

Well it's Thursday tomorrow so with Three days to go I'm guessing we are going on Tour with just Daniel James and Wan Bissaka as new signings. Not ideal.

Theirs isn't a good offer, it's a piss take.
It's a guaranteed £70m for a player who won't be a part of Ole's plans. If we turn it down, we'll only get £50m next Summer, and nothing to show for the £20m loss in potential income.

I know the idea of a loan + obligation to buy sounds a bit weird to people used to cash only deals, but a rose by any other name...

The bianconeri have presented Ajax with an offer of €55 million plus €10 million in bonuses, a lower amount than PSG’s bid, but Juventus are counting on the fact they already have an agreement with the defender. At the moment Ajax are asking for €75 million for their current captain.

Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga have all out spent the PL. The clubs are all shitting themselves about brexit.

Crazy, surely you just pay that in this market

Can do everything Maguire can do, while also being younger and cheaper. Were we interested? Of course not.

We'll be interested once he does well for Lyon only to be quoted €100m.

Just another example of why you shouldn't be dicking and insulting the club like United when you wanted 40m and Martial included in for Perisic then coming in for Lukaku with lowball offers that is considered an insult. United have every rights to not accept and shut it down, we want 75m or nothing else, pay up.

A good relationship between the club would improve their deals between them and probably could get a cheap price, like Real and Bayern for an example.

So, after Madrid and Inter have already been uncooperative in regards to Morata and Perisic, they're expecting us to bend over backwards and accept these rubbish deals for Pogba and Lukaku? The cheek!

We should accept that offer. £100m plus Bale. It would solve our right wing problem temporarily and we can offload a player that doesn’t want to be here.
You remember a certain Di Maria? He didn't want to be here. It didn't work out. No need to get another player like that, it's best to hold on Pogba and move on.

Hope Ajax stick to their guns... given ability plus age (and either longevity or resale value), that seems cheap at €75m in this market.

Re Lukaku, as much as Inter pissed us about, if Ole doesn't want Lukaku, I don't see the point in paying his wages while his contract runs down and his value drops. Business is business and as a few people have said, it wouldn't get paid in one lump sum anyway.

They acted like greedy cnuts and thought they could ream United for a good but not great player who was pushing 30 in Perisic. Now they are cap in hand looking us to bend over backwards to accommodate their purchase of a better younger player because they are skint.

feck them we should tell them to pay up or feck off. That way whatever happens, whether they pay or don't they will have been taught a lesson not soon forgotten. Next time they deal with United they will be less inclined to play the silly bollocks.

Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga have all out spent the PL. The clubs are all shitting themselves about brexit.

If that was the case, surely it would make sense to sign the players they need (during this window) before a possible No-Deal Brexit (with all the work permit/value of the pound issues that come with it) rather than spend more money later down the line after the car crash has taken place?

These Italian clubs have no shame! Ajax value him well under market value and Juventus are still low balling that figure

The only relevance the Perisic deal has to Lukaku is that Inter got greedy and didn't accept a very good offer and United might well make the same mistake.
United is not desperate to sell him. He can be a good plan B. Also he will guarantee goals. If Inter desperately want him they will pay upfront.
