Great news to be honest. With the odd superstar it wouldn't be too bad.

Sad to see Herrera leave but it certainly isn't the end of the world. We could do better however of all the shit we need to get rid of he wouldn't be high on that list.

Whether it's controlling the narrative or not, I prefer it.
We'll see. Implying they're no longer going for big names suggests they have some 'lesser' names lined up instead. If we come out of this window having thrown shit at the wall to see what sticks we'll know whether or not this is an intended move.

Why are you lot whinging about not signing superstars?

It's great news whether or not it's because we can't sign one or not.

That's what I call controlling the narrative.

When your team doesn't make the Champions League and therefore likely cannot attract big names in the summer, let's get out a puff piece that emphasises that we decided to not go for any big name targets.

Similarly it's a control of the narrative that our players will take a 25% payout, but reality is they just don't receive a 25% premium. Same end result, but one is rewarding performance, the other is penalizing failure. Generally a carrot is better than a stick.

Everytime I see Martial, I see Kawhi Leonard, because they have similar facial features and sad eyes. Same level of talent, different level of execution though. Worlds apart.

If only Martial had a Coach Pop to guide him.

Without reading it I knew it would be that he won't be sold but we want him to do better

we will hear it with regards to couple more I'm afraid

Lukaku - Rom needs to work hard this preseason and we believe he will hit the ground running come August
Sanchez - we know there's a great player there, he just need to believe in himself again, full preseason will do wonders etc.
Jonesy worked really hard in training recently and was unlucky to injure himself while sleeping on a plane to Manchester

If we really are committed to changing our policy we really need to be all over Van Der Beek. It’s the sort of signing that would show that we are trying to buy players on the rise.

Don’t mind if we also look at Maguire and guys of that ilk as well - whilst I think talent certainly trumps commitment we do need to start with the basics again and that’s players that will buy in to the managers vision, play for the badge and supporters and give 100%. We are shockingly low on anyone who can do those fundamentals.

Why is it everytime a player rumored to be leaving has this kind of picture?
Doesn’t apply to Martial. He looks like that in any situation. Scores a hat trick. That face. Has a threesome. That face.

Shaw has come back fat. We’re very disappointed but we believe he will be match fit in December

I'm all for this. In fact, if we manage to keep the likes of Pogba, De Gea etc. and surround them with good, hardworking players while simultaneously getting rid of the underperformers and those only interested in the bigger wage packet, that'll improve the squad so much. A mixture of world class and hardworking players were a key part of some of Ferguson's most successful teams.

Doesnt that apply to both of them? At least this season for De Gea and Pogba a lot of times as well?

De Gea has been our best player for the majority of the last 6 years and I still have faith in Pogba to deliver here when surrounded by good players who work hard for the team. Pogba is world class when he is on it, just needs to be more consistent.

Why? Neither of those players are going to make City any better. When you're at the top (like City are) it's very hard to improve, look at their signing of Mahrez - done absolutely nothing for them this season and is their record signing

I really wouldn't worry about what our rivals do this summer

I know nothing about those players but a lot of people here seem to want those two to play here so whilst they may not make city better, they could have made us better(?).

To be fair re signing fellaini might make us better....

One report-shuns big name players.
Earlier report-deal agreed in principle with Dybala.

Anyway Id love Macguire at United. Cant see it happening though.
