Thank God the links to Maguire are crap sources.
It's the only comfort you can take after reading Real are linked with Hazard, Pogba and Mbappe, while we're linked with Maguire.

Awww, poor Madrid. They want the players but don't want to pay. Aint that a pity. As someone said on here, they were asking 90m for Morata a couple of years ago. Time to pay up if they want Pogba or anybody else.

Sign of the times for those feckers. Hope they get shafted left, right and centre. PL clubs just ain't gonna roll over like they used to. About time they got a taste of their own medicine.

Agreed.

Nothing wrong with signing players we need. WTF would we do with Mbappe at the moment? Itd be like a tramp walking round with a Rolex on.

I can't understand why teams like Real Madrid, Barca and City can spend millions and millions each and every year and it's all ok for the world football governing body!!!
Look at Real‘s and Barca‘s revenue. Real has also spend basically nothing over the last couple of years.

Since we have such incompetence in terms of recruiting at United, a better approach might be to just try and sign whoever Spurs want.
Spurs don't exactly have a brilliant track record with signings either, albeit better than ours...

Rob Dawson:"Manchester United are ready to renew their interest in Leicester defender Harry Maguire, sources have told ESPN FC....
Any move for Maguire, or other targets including Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, would rely heavily on one of United's central defenders leaving Old Trafford.
It is unlikely to be Victor Lindelof, one of the best performers this season, while Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have both signed contract extensions this year. There is, however, interest in Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.

Please no!

Ole is already making questionable decisions if Bailey leaves before the horror show that comes in the form of Phil Jones.

Think we better start scouting Maguire now then if interested, need to get enough notes and what not before keeping tabs on him and then finally preparing a bid in 2022.

Keeping out of this thread for a few days. Being linked to Maguire whilst Liverpool are on for a double of the biggest prizes in club football is hacking me right off!

He's signed off on Jones getting a new contract and then selected him in big games like Barca away. He clearly rates Jones much more than Bailly

Didn't Maguire sign a new contract this season?

So... isn't he going to be even more expensive than last summer (when the board wouldn't sanction the move)?

Bailly was injured for Barcelona away. Makes sense to pick Jones then.

He could have played Dalot at fullback and kept together the Smalling-Lindelof partnership. Instead, he selected Jones at CB.

Solskjaer obviously rates him. Enough to start him in 11 games at CB since January and sign off on his four year contract.

He could have sure but he rightfully doesn't trust Dalot defensively so playing him away from home against one of the most dangerous front lines in football doesn't sound very appealing to me. And to be fair Jones is our second best ball playing CB and our third best CB defensively. Doesn't mean he's good enough because he isn't. Just means we have some very shite players.

Bayern Munich, all about Federico #Chiesa ! The Bavarians are ready to offer a figure close to 60 MLN

Shocking for a club of our size and status.

When we were the most dominant team in the league under Ferguson the club never felt the need to modernise because we'd always have him to make it work. The others, however, had nothing to lose by making wholesale changes to their club structure and prepare for the future, and that's what we've got now. Sir Alex has gone and we're behind the curve in terms of modernisation within the game. It's a shame, really, but we can't say that we didn't see it coming. The game has been changing and evolving for a decade and if little old you and I on a message forum can see this, then all the more so for professional individuals running a football club.

First time I've had a chance to catch up with this thread today, so United are linked with Maguire and a player from Swansea I've never heard of........:(

"...Herrera's deal with the Parisian side will see the player net eight million euro per season..."

Net, that's about 150,000 euros a week. It's a 45% higher tax rate in France.

So we can safely say as sad as it is to lose a player who seemed to care, he isn't worth 280k a week.

I maintain that I don’t believe a word of this. And from where I’m stood, it doesn’t seem the club do either, which is a pleasant change.

Yeah, matching that deal would be madness for us. Gonna miss him massively but that would cripple us even further.

The wording is bizzare .. 'ready to bid' I can understand .. 'interested in' is vague but OK. Wtf does 'ready to renew interest' even mean?
