Well that means they cant? We're never really in trouble with FFP so we dont know our upper limit, while we know Real are already at theirs, I'm sure as a club we could comfortably match their spending, we just have no desire to because of our cronies.
I wouldn't be so sure, ESPN said we have 100m to spend, only time will tell if that's correct, come August we will know!

You’ve got that the wrong way round. He can’t play #10 but can play in a double pivot.

So I was dreaming that Mourinho tried that out culminating in Pogba saying in an interview that he wanted to play left midfield in a 433 when Jose’s plans of making him a complete midfielder had failed? I concede that he might not function as a #10 though.

I thought he played there perfectly fine for France and was fine in his first season for us.

Kante is no ordinary midfielder.

This guy has it bang on. We should definitely stop negotiating and pay the first price we are quoted.

If a club quotes a price and we buy for said quoted price but it’s taken a lot of wasted time to get there, is that worth it?

We can get someone in Idrissa Gueye who is very similar to Kante and has similar numbers, in regards to winning possession. After that, all the responsibility falls with Pogba and what he does with the ball.

Story going around that Maguire liked an Instagram post about joining Utd so the media ran with he’s dropped a transfer hint

I hoped for a long time he could turn into a competent all around midfielder, not requiring the whole team to be augmented to his strengths and weaknesses, I’ve lost that hope about 6 months ago. Great if it happened, but not holding my breath.

I thought it was already proven that Pogba cannot play in a double pivot. He could play as a #10 though.
His decision making isn’t good or consistent enough for a top number 10.
He should be playing deeper than that too, he has a good range of passing that he can implement better if he isn’t playing that close to the attackers.

Has he really ever played as a #10 for us? Having a “free role” in midfield doesn’t necessary mean he was played in that position.

Sure he didn't mean it... Sounds like when Joleon Lescott didn't mean it

I’m sure left of a midfield three is his favourite position - but he can play from the right of the same midfield three or in a double pivot (either side) as a #8. Looking at it slightly differently, he can play as both the most advanced or least advanced #8 in the 4-3-3. He can’t play as the #6 or #10. Or to clarify, I’m sure he would love to be in the #10 position when his team is defending to absolve him of as much work and discipline as possible, but in possession he likes the play in front of him and is far less comfortable taking the ball with his back to goal in high, congested central areas.

Kante, specifically, is not the reason why he has shown he can play in a double pivot for France. He does need that kind of player next to him though - a defensively diligent holder who thrives on the physical aspects of defending, a destructive #6 in the mould of a Casemiro, Fernandinho, Rice, Ndidi, etc.

Id rather Pogba feck off back to Juve than Spain, Juve are going to have one heck of a team next season

Much as I'd like to see the back of him i think it's very unlikely.

It's hard enough to attract talent with the upheaval we're currently under. With no CL we should keep hold of all the quality players we can since the odds of getting equivalent or better replacements is very small.

Pogba has some time left on his contract and we do not need to sell. He will still have value next summer if we sell him then.

Bye bye Adidas, hello Nike!

Not that Adidas would be that stupid to even think about trying to pressure one of their biggest brands into doing something they have no business in, but Adidas are easily replaceable.
