He's a top bloke but I'd put him in the same category as Young on the field as he doesn't really offer much as a starter of off the bench. Just don't get why we've used up our resources to keep him here.

If we're going to have a team full of youth, it makes sense to keep a couple of old heads around for their wisdom and experience. Even if they barely play.

Don't understand why Real Madrid would go for Pogba instead of Kante. He'd be extremely effective for them in that league.

Their shortlist seems to be Pogba and Erickson, so my guess their looking for someone who creates rather than a destroyer.

Nothing wrong with Mata resigning. We have bigger problems than him and need to get shot of some real dross in the squad. At least Mata has some technical ability. He's also professional and no worries. Playing a limited role as well is fine.

Jones, Mata, Smalling, Lingard, Young, Rojo. They all got new contracts in last year, year and a half. Rebuilding?:lol:

I’ve actually came to the part now where I’m genuinely no longer surprised when we award mediocre rubbish with new contracts.

We really are a joke of a club.

I can't imagine any club willing to pay £150m for Pogba.

Then he stays with us.

Madrid wanted £90 fecking million for Morata when we enquired two years ago.

It’s about time we gave them a taste of their own medicine. He’s technically got three years left on his contract so Madrid have zero leverage.

The guy is one of the most marketable players in the world. £150-£180 million minimum is what we should be demanding.

We are indeed but the fans don't help as in other threads you get:

"I would rather have 11 players who want to play for the shirt and finish bottom half than this bunch of overpaid wankers" etc

Now the likes of Jones etc who we are "rewarding" are exactly that, average shithouses that want to play for United because we accommodate it.

Really wish our board had a ruthless streak, sentimentality is the worst thing in football.
I don't think it's sentiments. I just think they are actually just very very stupid. And we can't get rid of all the deadwood in one go otherwise we'll have no dept and kids to replace them, which is worse then people realise. Sadly we are stuck with these idiots for a long while. Ole will realise how sh*t they are, gear up to sell them and then get sacked. New manager, new chance. Till the day we die.

What drives me crazy is that we're on 06/17. 17th of June!!! What the hell is going on... why can't we just sign players and get it done. We don't need the media drama, the world needs to see that we're ready to go back on top and that's all.

United should hold out for as much money as possible regardless of the player involved. That's just common sense.

My point is essentially that there's hardly a clamour to secure his signature. Marketability is one thing, actual worth on the pitch is another.

Barca wanted him last summer, Juve and Real want him this summer.....

I'm not saying that clubs aren't going to be interested in him. It just doesn't surprise me that they'd baulk at the price mentioned.

Also, where's the proof that Barcelona wanted him last summer? He's not their type of player.

So says you, the summer before we signed him they had a bid rejected by Juve, but I guess you know what their type is better than them

That is not a huge fee for a player that should be selling for close to Neymar's price.

So let's get this straight moron Ed is going down the typical reactionary way of things again of waiting til after if we sell Pogba to complete midfield signings when selling clubs will bump up their prices to us even more knowing we have the Pogba money to spend rather than being smart and pro-active about signing players before Pogba may go and not getting held to ransom by other selling clubs.

If they really wanted him they would've got him.

And I'm sure most people know what I mean when I say that Pogba's not a Barca type of player.

133m is a HUGE fee for a player with 3 years left? We will/should reject that without even thinking twice..

Players arent getting cheaper.. we can get ~100m for him even 2 years from now.. he has 3 years on his contract..
Why sell unless its crazy money..

Leicester believe that they are still in pole position to sign Youri Tielemans, as they are in advanced talks with Monaco. No final agreement as yet. Man United have been in touch with the player’s agent for a while now, but they still haven’t made a bid

Man Utd on brink of agreeing new contract with Juan Mata after lengthy talks

Guess that means the right wing options are solved for next season then in the eyes of this club with Lingard and Mata again and martial and James as our left wing options with rashford as our main striker, teams will be quaking in their boots

Didn't they buy him from Dortmund for something like 35 million Euros? And that was when Hummels was in his prime. Now he's 30 and they no longer need him but are still holding out for 25 million plus?!
Bayern don't mess around and the other BL clubs just bent over for them

I would sooner sell pogba elsewhere for less. If Woodward doesn't bleed them dry with their top target locked on a 3 year deal then he's more hopeless than I thought. A rare situation where we have them by the balls in the market. They act like they can bully everybody.

If we do really value pogba and absolutely want him in the team we have no reason to sell. Just keep for 3 years and let him go on a free. If we value him as highly as some do then sacrificing reals shitty offer would be like a 40m signing each season for next 3.

Don't like the feeling of this summer already. Feels like we are going to get it badly wrong yet again.

If it all goes pear shaped serious pressure needs to be put on the board and owners. Madrid fans would have killed someone by now in our position. Maybe we need to act like fans of a big club for a bit rather than simply lie down and accept our demise.

Still a bit early in the window to be advocating for murder
