Nah, not likely. Walk away from this.

Its the usual thing that happens when a deal is close, it will be agreed at probably 12+ addons maxing out at around 20m

What a surprise.

Also who the feck is Godfrey?

He's had a solid season, he's more of a prospect. Championship might sound daunting to some but the likes of Spurs / Liverpool get these unknown players and make use of them due to something called scouting.

There's more than enough players in the English 2nd tier division that would walk into our starting 11: Grealish, Aaron's, James, Mount, Abraham. A second list who could make the bench would consist of the likes of Wilson (harsh but true), Bowen and Kelly.

Our first team is actually pretty cr@p

20 million for a player who was almost sold for 8.5 mill in Jan? 12 mill is more than fair IMO
Glad to see us getting linked with Godfrey, first heard about him when people on here were raving about him, did a bit of scouting and he looks good
But all of this is pointless if these clubs demand 20,30 million for championship players

Reading between the lines a bit but it looks like things aren't going to plan for us so far. Mata staying means no new RW, which means we'll still be piss poor in attack. Throw in Lukaku staying and it's the icing on the cake.

Considering we apparently didn't think we needed a new CB a few weeks ago, it's going to be interesting to see how we improve. I'm not stretching with this conclusion, but we'll still be crap next year.

It’s way too early to be reading between the lines IMO.

I also think that Mata staying doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t sign a right winger either.

And yet almost got top four and finished sixth overall in the PL. it’s not crap. There are holes, but it’s not nearly as bad as some would have us believe.

What this tells us is that he is constantly on the move looking for space. He is not a winger, never has been, never will be. He's a very good player and although he might not fit into the style of play Ole wants to play, he is a good option to have for when there's a tight game. Not as if there are a load of players in the squad who have his eye for a pass and making something happen. The guy is a productive player and seems like a great professional.

Hope that isn’t Rolando Aarons :/

I know how crap our first team is and yes thanks I am aware of scouting but appreciate you clearing that up for me. I'm also aware of how bad our buys have been for years and how far behind we have fallen. So I will continue my scepticism and lack of excitement with regards to these types of links until after we actually sign some real top class talent to get us going in the right direction again.
I rate our scouting and subsequent purchases on a lower level to that of Liverpool and Spurs so I'm happy at least we are trying to emulate them.

Will be interesting to see how much he goes for. Last year his price was 100 mill plus, I’m guessing he’ll be sold for 50 - 60 mill

What a surprise.

Also who the feck is Godfrey?

He’s a pretty decent centre half, comfortable on the ball and a goal threat. Has a very good alround game. Just not sure he’d be ready to step up to a top 6 premier league club. I’d say he’d be a loan out to gain experience type of signing.

To name Chiesa as a "meh" player...shaking my head...
I follow Serie A as closely as PL, Chiesa is the next BIG thing. He should be mentioned in the same bracket as Sancho, Felix etc. If and I bet they will, Juve sell Dybala this summer, they are most likely to bring in Chiesa as his replacement. Tells you enough, he is good enough to replace Dybala even at his tender age. Chiesa is the captain og a Fiorentina team that have indeed not been great the last few seasons, but he stand out every match. This kid is unreal and a proper leader, like De Ligt.

I would LOVE for United to sign Chiesa. Perfect signing, can play as RW, right inside forward, SS, #10 etc but prefer RW.
Completely agree about Federico Chiesa. Looks a frightening prospect and on par with Sancho.

Fiorentina are having a torrid time as well. Only just clear of relegation. Quite a few players there that would be good options for a lot of teams.

I agree, would take both Chiesa and Milenkovic in a heartbeat. Chiesa reminds me of the former Arsenal great Robert Pires.

I understand that we can’t ship em all out in one go but just getting rid of one or two would be a start. I know it’s ealry in the window but at this rate United are going to be starting with exactly the same team next season. With young as captain
Can't just get rid, all depends on if anyone actually wants them.

It’s Juventus. They’ll sign him for 10 mill and half of one of their players on loan.

So Isco, you can either go to the treble winners, who have some highly technical under an incredible manager, or you can go to a team who came 6th, need major surgery across the park, and have zero style of play.

We have a chance lads!
