Fookin do it woody. 100m for Jovic or 100m for Felix? Both. Always both!!
If this is a possibility, we should seriously get both. Even if it doesn't work out, we can always sell them for a similar price or even higher.

Mata renewing wil be awesome. I for one can't wait to see him being knocked off the ball by the wind whilst struggling to hit a top speed of 4 kmh.

We have the money to do it. If it was Barca/Real with the money we have and the position we're in, this would be the type of signing that would get done day 1.

Agree with this, in another thread someone was saying that Madrid and United are in a similar situation team wise (in that we both need to overhaul), I said that out of the two I’d back Madrid to get it right and quicker though.

We need to play him as a 10 where his skills are useful. He's never been that quick and is wasted on the right.
I might be wrong, but has Ole ever played him on the right? I can only remember him playing at a 10 under Ole. Not sure why everyone is moaning about him signing and playing on the right.

If we got Mata renewed on a smaller wage, I think it makes sense. He has a lot to teach the younger players, both in terms of his skill on the pitch and his general qualities as a human and having him around is of enough pitch value it makes sense. There are some players who might be able to help the younger players but add nothing on the pitch, and in those cases we should get rid.

Our whole reason for wanting Perisic was to cross balls in to Lukaku.

So, yeah, no thanks.

No more 30 year old wingers.

Same applies to Bale. We're not a retirement home anymore.

I dont think he is good in either position, too weak and too slow. Let him go and use Lingard, Gomes etc as back up because surely that is what Mata would be. If we are to play with a 10 we need a damn good one.

You may be right about that. All the previous managers tried to shoehorn him in on the right, though.

He's a good guy and as a role model to young players you can't ask for anything better. He's also skilled as feck so if he can pass on some of that to up and coming players you're golden.

Might be a good idea to make him Rashford's best buddy.

Have the Mata fans ever asked themselves why, after 6 years and 4 different managers, Mata has never been able to secure the #10 position as his own at United (not even as a backup)? He's had a chance under every manager to play there. Yey every single manager puts him out on the right. He has not been good enough to play at 10; that's the reason. He was a very good player in his prime but now he is old and slow and his offensive contribution is negligible and he is a massive defensive liability; opposing LB and LW make runs off him like he's a lamp post and he is completely unable to track their runs. As a 10, he slows play down and he is unable to press because he is literally the slowest player in the Premier League. It is time to thank him for his service and open up roster spots for younger players who can play the style Ole wants to play.

Because three of those managers are idiotic thundercunts?

We don’t really play with a number 10, various managers have used Fellaini or Pogba as that player closest to the 10 position.

Mata has been played on the right because it’s our weakest position by a country mile, every fexker has been given a go there.

He has also been played as a 10 and been largely rubbish

Also this. When he's been good, it's been there.

Sprints is the key one, for someone playing on the wing that's an extremely low number and essentially neutralises one side of our attack as our current right backs aren't good enough going forward to make up for it.

Which is why we should use him in his natural position, which is at 10.
