I would not be at all against Thomas Partey. Never thought of him since Atletico seem to always have ridiculous release clauses so just assumed he had one as well.

Apparently his clause is actually just 50m not 80m as was reported in the past
Isn't Saul considered the best for Atletico?

Saul is more of a CM/no.8 that can play in different forward positions, he's more versatile. Like a younger Mata but he can also play as a holding mid

Partey is more of a MF destroyer

Partey is an animal, I've literally seen opposition players bounce off of him, he's quick, can defend and is very versatile. However he should only be a viable replacement for Matic not a no8.

J. Felix, T. Partey, J. Sancho and W. Bissaka or T. Meunier.
I can live with that.
For CB, I'll close my eyes and whisper A. Tuanzebe will be like a new signing.

Wan-Bissaka's first name is Aaron.

His passing isn't good enough though - we need better passers in our midfield

I mean he's become a much better passer as of late especially his vertical/forward passing,he's had good vision to find passing lanes you'd think he couldn't.

His passing range has improved big time

His strength is still his defensive work/energy and right foot but I wouldn't say he's a weak passer at all

Ah ok. So City want Saul as DM to replace Fernandinho because he suits their system I assume.

Can Partey do the DM job on his own at United or would we need another defensively minded CM alongside?

I really like Partey. Ghanaian as well, so shouldn't have any problems adapting to the country.

Funny enough,Fernandinho used to play as a no.8 and occasionaly as a 10 for Shaktar as well before converting into the role he has now for them . Saul would definitely be a great fit for their system as Pep doesn't utilize the traditional no.6/DM role and prefers more of a b2b type but I can't see Atleti being keen to sell one of their most important players.

I think he's pretty capable of doing the job at DM on his own allowing another CM to deputize Pogba further up.

There haven't been any strong links from reliable reporters on Saul.

Ndombele looks far more likely for City - Sam Lee has said City have been following him for a while now and he's a target.

That would definitely explain his reported interest in wanting to play in England, Nigerians/Ghanaians would be much more at home in the Premier League than in Spain

I reckon city will revamp their midfield. Wouldn’t be surprised to see 2 big midfield signings for them this summer.

Saul is rumoured to be unhappy with Simeone or vice versa. Also, Saul has recently changed to a British agency. I think the same guy that manages Bale's affairs.

Thomas speaks Spanish & has said numerous times he feels at home in Madrid. I think his interest to move stems from a lack of playing time & of course a potentially bigger payday.

Hector Herrera from Porto is out of contract this summer & reports say he's en route to Atleti. I think that means one of Koke, Rodrigo, Saul or Partey could be on the move. Hopefully to us!

Sure it’s not Obi?

I've generally tried to contain my excitement for potential new signings but Partey would be an excellent addition, if there's a chance he wants to join us then we should go all out to sign him.

Thomas would be an excellent signing. A proper destroyer who would allow us to play a more creative partner with Pogs.

Ole has come out and said he wants Pogba to stay here but everyone seems afraid.
Unless Varane is worried he is going to get replaced. Pogba it is his bloody agent and it is his bloody agent every summer. I do think Paul will go sometime. Juventus was used as a stepping stone, for all they win things, we are the bigger world club. He might see Real as the finishing line.
