Varane has announced that he wants to leave this summer. His sale, near 100m

That's our CB signing sorted this summer then.

In all seriousness, what has his injury record been like recently? Wasn't he very injury prone in his early career?

Isn't Varane a Zidane favourite ?

Anyway, feel this is just contract related. He'll throw alittle tantrum ala Ramos but in the end this will reach it's likely conclusion of Varane staying on at the Bernabeu.

Course it is, but not in Ed's eyes it isn't. He would blow most of our transfer budget on him. I am sure it is more about his looks and marketability than his footballing ability.
There is no evidence to support this accusation against Ed.

Just because a player and a manager have the same nationality it doesn't mean they get along. When Van Gaal took over at United everyone thought it was good news for RvP but instead he fell in love with Rooney and sold RvP within a year.

Personally I would be surprised if Varane really wants out of Madrid but if he does then Woodward for sure will want him at United, he was the centre back specifically named in all those club briefings as the one Woodward wanted vs Mourinho's shopping list of Alderweireld/Maguire/Mina.

Knowing Ed, he'll probably chase Varane while De Ligt is out there readily available. Hopefully Ole tells him he doesn't want Varane and not to waste everyone's time

Won't stop Ed going for Varane. He name dropped him FFS. Real probably heard that and made him available for the first window they have open.

With de Ligts increasing fame around the footballworld, he would also be a "big name" signing, but buying Varane from Woodwards hero Perez, might be his dream come true.

Yes Ed did. But i think this is more of a case of Varane talking he wants to leave rather than Real wanting to sell him and making him available, which very likely means contract extension time demanded by the player himself. We cannot fall on the Ramos trick again while losing out on potentially signing De Ligt

1) is Varane actually that good?
2) if that story is correct and he’s on the market, Ed is in trouble after briefing he was the centre back they were prepared to pay out for last year. Money where your mouth is time.

Will Varane have the hunger required to compete in this league? He’s won everything. Is even that good? Is this another Ramos stunt?

If we’re interested then make it clear we want a quick resolution to this or it’s off. We need to be smarter about these situations.

This. I’m done with rejects. Sign someone hungry and no not in literal sense.
Varane's not a reject though, if he didn't want to leave then Madrid wouldn't even entertain bids for him. There's probably nothing in this story anyway.

This may be a contract stunt, but to question whether Varane is that good is bonkers. He's someone who would actually be worth 80-90 million easily. He'd be right up there with Van Dijk as the league's best CB if he came.

Yeah he's mint, there's no denying it, he's won it all so I don't think he'd have any issues adapting to the PL. I do think the question about his desire is good, winning everything at such a young age might make him less motivated.

Perfect age to buy a centre back too, in my opinion. 25-26, so obviously plenty of experience which for that position is crucial, but also with at least 6-7 years still left to give at the highest level.

Some real fans say Varane has stagnated a bit. I'm taking it as the fans being salty cause he wants to see if it's possible to get a transfer.

It doesn't matter if Varane has won it all. He's a footballer so he'll still be motivated to win more at a different club otherwise he might as well retire and take up snooker.
I'd be surprised if PSG wont be in for him.

Terrible news on our Herrera though.

How is the fact that Varane has won everything is being used against him? Imagine have a 3XCL and a WC winner in his mid 20's in your squad. At his physical prime and as experienced as its gets. If Varane is available its a no brainer. Fast, agile, good with the ball at his feet he's got it all.
