Aren't we supposed to be changing to a policy of recruiting younger players? Rakitic does not fit into that category. It'll probably be Rabiot and this guy is just teasing for the extra clicks.
Pjanic, Verratti? We have been linked with Rakitic.
Rabiot?
Is he really 10x better than Herrera though? He hasn't proven that much.
Are there any player 10x better than Herrera ? Subjective I would say
So he would still command ba huge fee?2021.

Alex Shaw was awful in terms of reliability before he went to ESPN. No idea what he's like now but I'd still take what he say with a huge pinch of salt.
Verratti perhaps, would work for both parties
It's probably bullshit, but that's not how it works. They may have a source and are actively working to double check it.If the story is so poorly sourced that even ESPN will not publish it, it can safely be disregarded as drivel.
Pjanic plays at the base of midfield for Juve.Pjanjc has a grand total of 2 goal and 3 assist in the CL favorites team. If we didn't get at least two world superstars in attack it'll just be a massive downgrade on Paul.
City are gonna be looking pretty thin in midfield if Gundogan goes. Maybe they'll actually give Foden a chance now?
Exactly, it doesn't need to be an upgrade or retain scenario. Do both and we will have a worldclass midfield.Don’t think it matters who it is. Even if we have a midfielder better than Herrera, doesn’t mean Herrera shouldn’t be retained.
I follow him regularly and he seems to retweet other's work more so than give his own opinions on who United will sign. Not that it means anything but just he seems less inclined to put his own neck on the line.Alex Shaw was awful in terms of reliability before he went to ESPN. I think Rabiot's really high salary might still be comparatively ok for United's wage structure. He was earning 60K at PSG and if we doubled it he'd be on par with the likes of Lingard and less than half of what the biggest stars earn. We could even consider it as Fellaini's money being reassigned. No way are we buying a top class CM, CB and Sancho, that's 260 million right there, at least. If we weren't run by complete morons, we would keep Herrera and get Rabiot on a free for 5-10 mill sign on fee
But at the same time if Herrera is asking for a lot of money and signing Rabiot on a free would mean he gets a really high salary as well, maybe buying a new CM wouldn't be a bad idea as it would stop the wage bill inflation but our wage bill has always been inflated
Ed. Adds to basket.Verratti perhaps, would work for both parties
Give him a higher signing on fee with reduced wages. Same cost, less impact on wage structure. No way are we buying a top class CM, CB and Sancho, that's 260 million right there, at least. If we weren't run by complete morons, we would keep Herrera and get Rabiot on a free for 5-10 mill sign on fee

Maybe we just don't want Rabiot and Ole has a player in mind that will fit into our midfield like a glove? You don't have to be a moron to think we need to upgrade Herrera and Rabiot isn't itNo way are we buying a top class CM, CB and Sancho, that's 260 million right there, at least. We'd be daft to pay that sort of money, maybe I'll be alone in thinking that though.
You're not alone. £130m is utterly ridiculous. Would rather go for De Ligt. We'd be daft to pay that sort of money, maybe I'll be alone in thinking that though.
It is silly money. Maybe why he might be more interested in an up and coming CB as a backup. Seems he sees Smalling and Lindelof as the pairing. We'd be daft to pay that sort of money, maybe I'll be alone in thinking that though.
Haha, good one.City are gonna be looking pretty thin in midfield if Gundogan goes. Maybe they'll actually give Foden a chance now?
He doesn't have to be spectacular on the ball. That's why we have 2 other mids. Hes there to win the ball and move it on quickly. Which he did here for example:
Lots of ball recovering and even attacking the space when it's there.
Who is it?
Tier 1 reliable - "Hazard, Pogba, a center back and a left back are the PRIORITIES of Real Madrid". He also adds that “Real Madrid is optimistic with the signings of Hazard and Pogba".
Add barca and Madrid to that too.Never go for a player Bayern are willing to let go.
Add barca and Madrid to that too.
CM with another partner if I'm not mistaken.Pjanic plays at the base of midfield for Juve.
Maybe the midfielder we are supposedly looking at is Thiago? Might be looking for a new challenge and such.
