What the hell would PSG want with Herrera, he's likeable enough, but he'd hopefully be just a bench player for us if he stayed anyway.

Would love to get paid to just make up complete rubbish.

PSG launching a vengeful campaign against us like they did with Barca after they knocked PSG out of the CL? Herrera has become an important player for us since Ole returned; Herrera's contract is running-down = offer him a fortune to walk-out on us and leave us with another gap in the squad to urgently fill - PSG feel smug in their endless pettiness.

Probably tabloid bollocks though.

They can have Herrera. Just as long as they stay the hell away from DDG & Pogba.

Literally just suggested by a few Caf members and now it's happening is it?

Jesus Christ. This year looks like its going to unbearable with the caf muppets and meltdowns.

Usually I'm all up for it, it's a bit of fun if people don't take it too seriously. But this is getting mad already.
It's always like this you just miserable and old.

These people don't actually believe what they're saying. The majority of the "WE DONT NEED A RW WE HAVE CHONG!!" crowd will be the first to moan when we don't sign anyone.

I think there are a few sides to opinions on someone like Chong.

1) He is supposed to have huge potential so why spend £100m on someone a year younger just because they have been given a chance. Why not just give Chong a chance first.
2) Chong is talented, we don't need Sancho. Probably less people in this category.
3) what we have on the right is so shite we should be playing Sancho as nothing to lose and plenty to potentially gain
4) Not sure Chong will ever be good enough, Sancho has shown more at a younger age

I think the bottom line is Chong needs the chance to prove himself. We can't afford to do that with a tight fight for Top 4 and impossibly hard FA Cup fixtures during the year.

We also can't afford to wait and see next year if we want progress, thus little choice but to spend the £100m and Chong can compete once he is ready.

Imagine the state your club is in when it would be a tragedy to lose Ander Herrera. And it is true to an extent. Losing him without a replacement, and even just losing him and choosing instead to spend money on a replacement, would be a major blow to a club stuck on the fringes of Top 4 football.

Am I alone in thinking Bruno Fernandes looks ok? Good delivery from the right of a 3, good engine, hammer of a shot. Obviously you don't want to be throwing huge money for him, but he looks a handy player. I want Herrera to stay, De Gea to renew, and I want us to strengthen as much as possible... but we need to look at players attributes rather than just their name. This guy has 23 goals/assists in 25 league games in Portugal... from midfield. I don't dislike Fred, or McTomminey, but I'd be very surprised if either of them could contribute to 10 goals in a season in any league.

He plays Pogba's role, the free one with much less defensive duties, so he'd be a bench option rather than a starter for us, we need to focus on the first 11 before paying €40M or more for squad depth IMO.

The best/«most gifted» midfielders in a team often get more attacking responsibility. That does not mean they can’t take more responsibility with regards to defensive duties.

Worst case, he cant take the defensive duties against good teams, but gives us more options against poor teams playing compact in a low block.

I also understand he is a very good ten, and could be a good option to Lingard in games where we play with a diamond and two strikers.

In short, he is a creative player that would give us options. We need that. If a team manage to take out Pogba, we usually struggle.

Herrera is obviously interested in joing PSG hence the interest.

His head may be turned though. Huge club with guaranteed trophies and 4 year contract which United will not offer. I think he's gone to be honest with you.

That and that I trust Rmc more than any British media outlets.

I agree mate, RMC are very rarely wrong..

PSG trying to do to us what they done to Barca when they tried to get Verratti, trouble is the only superstar we have wouldn't go to PSG.

They can't do that to us because they aren't even as attractive as us on the market for ambitious players. Even for Neymar, they are a stepping stone.
