Whats a "homegrown player contract" ?

There is a lot of crazy MLS rules that I can spend all day explaining but, I will just briefly explain this one. MLS has a salary cap but, to incentives teams using their academies teams are allowed to sign players who have spent some time in their academies to "homegrown" contracts that do not count against the cap.

This is strange if it really leads to Dybala going out. I mean why?
We should go for Dybala, he always talk about playing back with Paul because he wants Paul to come back.
We could just take him and play him on the right .

Cristiano believes that Isco slows down the game a lot, also in the past he protected and encouraged the club to keep James, perhaps because he was represented by Mendes, which Isco didn´t forget.
Out of the field - and this is a mixture of opinions, ITK, radios, etc - it is said that they barely spoke, and that the mocking character of Isco did not work very well with Cristiano

Interesting stuff mate, would you agree that Isco slows the game down? Can't say I've noticed that.

Yes, he likes to keep the ball, he "chews" the play a lot, he turns and turns again, he passes short, the ball back to him, small dribbing, turn again...
Here Modric complaining in the middle of the match "ehh, pass a bit, pass the ball, don´t do that"

In any case it does not have to be necessarily bad. In fact his presence transformed Madrid, with the debate of whether the 4-3-3 was sustainable in the elite matches.

Barca's obsession in my opinion comes purely because he's a flashy Brazilian. If he was from some less glamorous footballing nation I don't think they'd look his way.

What is Malcom then?

Barca's obsession to me suggests there's something shady going on. It all has to do with Kia Joorabchain imo. Willian has been promised to a Chinese club and Barca are going to make a profit of some sort.

They think they can sell him for more than 60 million? That’s what they offered last summer.

Malcom ain't that good. He's certainly not good enough for Barca.

He's only 21. He's going to improve. Replacing a 21 years old player with a 30 years old one who is past his peak doesn't make any sense.

I think we should be fretting about it. We are desperate for improvements in our squad. We are miles behind the very best in our league let alone Europe. Yet the likes of Barcelona are buying players like Malcom to sit on their bench and heavily linked with the very best youngsters in Europe like De Ligt. We on the other hand don’t look to be doing activity this transfer window. Let’s not forget our net spend for transfers is around £50m this season, we should be spending at least £100m a season until we are back on top, otherwise we all know where that money is going to.

Juventus deem Ramsey good enough for them but we don’t? For a free transfer it’s a fantastic buy and then we can put our transfer budget into strengthening other gaps in the squad. That is my issue.

Do you prefer young players not good enough yet to get minutes or slightly older players that could make a big impact on a title race? Because they're two different signings with the exception of less than a couple of players.

You're also putting the carriage before the horse here. The mistake we've been making is just buying players without concern for fit let alone a cohesive football style. Let's get the DOF, get back to our roots of attacking football and then fill the roster to suit. Til then I'm happy with Malcolms and De Ligts going to Spain and sitting on the bench. I mean, could you imagine either of them under Mourinho? It'd be such an incredible waste. So given that we've finally made that big managerial change and seeing football with a purpose let's remember that it has been not even half a dozen games. So truly no need to fret. Save it for the summer .

Wouldn't mind us going for Isco at all. Or Dybala for that matter.

Where would you play Isco? I love him as a player, but he wouldn't fit anywhere for us in our best 11

Cristiano believes that Isco slows down the game a lot,
He's completely right. I think we seriously botched his development. Remember him at Malaga or his first couple months with us, what a player he was and what he could have been :(

Btw it's a strange situation, Isco is obviously appreciated by Paratici as well but he is the one obsession of Allegri(ever since the milan-malaga CL clashes), who, if rumours are to be believed, might be our coach next season

Maybe its because dybala wants to leave / is leaving?

As for signing him, thats the dream, absolutely love dybala. And just fyi i signed him on fm18 for united and he was a beast. Meant i played pogba in a midfiel 2 but i won thr champions league so don't believe he can't play there caf, he just needs thr right management!

Pretty sure there was a quote floating around in the last few months where someone asked Ronaldo about Marcelo and Isco being linked to Juventus and Ronaldo responded something like, ‘yeah it’s aleays good to sign top class players like Marcelo’ and completely ignored the Isco part.

Or a silly way of funneling money to Joorabchain.

Sarri, Jose, Conte and the Brazil manager seem to rate Willian, as does Valverde apparently. So does the Chelsea board. Maybe they just want what he has to offer. On top of that, maybe Malcom is just shite.

I find this kind of honesty refreshing. Rather than releasing vague quotes in a behind the scenes media battle, come right out and say the reason you haven’t signed yet. Makes me respect him more IMO, and as a fan it would be nice to know what is actually going on.

I reckon he has the ability to play deeper. I was thinking of him and Pogba mirroring KDB and D. Silva. I don't think his output justifies using him as one of the front three. Only thing is that we'd need a much more mobile DM than Matic.

How reliable are Tuttosport usually? Judging from the font in their 'header', they look like they're about as reliable as SHOOT magazine.

It's the kind of font you'd put on an invitation to a kids birthday party.

Nah, it's the sort of font used on an invitation that your kid receives to a birthday party, leading you to wonder whether or not to send them because the parents of the birthday kid are clearly mental.

Man we should make MEN print out some stuff like these Italian papers do.
'Manchester United continue to insist on Dybala but Juventus seek Ashley Young in return but United unwilling to let go of their priced asset'
'Juventus to bid 250 million plus Dybala for Fellaini, but United determined to keep hold of the Belgian '

See I was thinking this as well.

We could have Guardiola as manager but until the first 11 players improve we are never going to win anything of merit.

Yes buy players we need, buy players that suit a system we want to play and a the manager’s style. I’m not saying spend £100m just because we have the money there but surely there are targets we could have bought both in the summer and this transfer window. The money hasn’t been spent and I’m constantly seeing players that would improve our team go to rivals (mainly foreign) for money I wouldn’t call ridiculous.

We should be looking at Dybala .

Martial - - Rashford - - Dybala

Frontline is soemthing else
