Napoli are furstrating as they are out of the CL and have no chance of beating Juve to the Scudetto, but I wouldn't mind us waiting if we actually think we can get it done in the summer rather than spunk money on Manolas in this window.

As I said, replace Howe with Bournemouth. Was on my phone and was easier to write Howe. Thanks for that insight into the transfers, though. I’m sure you got my point originally which was it’s crazy money for a totally unproven player.
Totally agree mate..

Fine, but hope they've been scouting January options. The owners need to start investing in the team properly. A new defender and a right winger this January will go some way to making up for the mess last summer (and the previous many other summers before that). No point waiting for new players if we don't get champions league this season. Why would Koulibaly go to a non-CL team?

I think it depends on if any other champions league qualied clubs are as in Real, Barca a) Willing to meet the transfer fee b) willing to pay the wages.

I think all players want to play in the champions league but I don't think it is everything. Di Maria and Pogba both sighed while we were not in the champions league.

Yes, I am aware. Was just wondering since he goes from France to Spain.
Yes I know, what I meant is that if the news come from Di Marzio/Romano or any other Italian source, it’s going to be the net wage regardless if that is a transfer from Spain to Italy or from Colombia to Afghanistan

So glad he chose Chelski instead of us.

I’d say he’d have been a better fit into United’s system. Think he really wanted the move as well. Everyone hates Lukaku on the Caf now, so who knows who got the better deal. Chavs will probably sell him at a slight profit as well..

Inter have agreement with Godin for next summer, 2 year deal with option for another year.

He looks thrilled to be signing next to the over excited, creepy looking guy

Reminds me of Stephen Fry's wedding photo.

Inter already laying down the groundwork for Mourinho's next side?

Koulibaly in the summer will be great, we still need defensive reinforncements in January though.

But if a move for Koulibaly is ruled out then who could we go for in january? Had I been in charge then De Ligt would be my top priotity but I feel like it will be tough to get him even in the summer not to mention january. What other options are there? Kostas Manolas has a £32.4m buy out and personally I think he is quality but just like Bailly he has a very rash play style that could get him in trouble in the PL with how much faster it is. Then we have alternatives like Milenkovic who has potential but I can see Fiorentina demanding a mega fee and I'm not sure he would be worth that, he could turn out to be another Bailly.

We are signing no one.

Which is fair enough really, seems we're playing the long game and making sure the things we do are right. It's a good sign

I agree. Would rather us not sign anyone unless one of our targets become available. Hopefully we actually have a plan for a change.

Yeah I'd quite like Manolas to come in for the release clause quoted, however if the management think he won't fit with the new directors plans then I'm fine to wait and see.

This obviously all comes with the cavaet that we're fully backed in the summer with no scrimping around.

I can’t relax with the current backline at all. Would take Trippier in a heartbeat personally. Ben Davies would be great too.

What you cant buy for money, you can buy for more money. Liverpool made VVD the most expensive defender in history and he made a impact immediately.
In my opinion Skriniar/Koulibaly are that type of player and we must go for one of them this month.

Dunno how smart is not to buy at least a CB in January.

If we fail to make top4, we don't get CL and that has a big role to play in attracting good players next summer.
