I would like the process to start from this window itself. I hope we can add a couple of talented young players in January. Also wish that a couple if our players are shifted out of the club. Everyone and their dog knows that the likes of Darmian & Rojo have no future at this club. Don't see the point of keeping them any longer. Get rid of those two now and then Fellaini, Jones, Young and Valencia in the summer.

Mate we should be all over their scouting department, they have their feelers all over south America,
Their ethos is to blood the youth they find and sell them in three years time for 30m plus euros to sustain the club, during which time they are blooding the next lot .
They went on a spending spree a few seasons ago and brought Portuguese youth talents from lower teams with the aim of doing exactly that.
Pretty sure there are very different laws in Portugal to the prem in regards to signing players under 18 from non EU countries??

That's true!
Although surely City have found some rule around this that we can use as well...:wenger:

Yup, virtually impossible to get a work permit. The South American nationals can get a Spanish nationality if they spend two years in Spain though. Which why it's so easier for Spanish teams to sign them.

We should be in for full backs most now. Valencia and Young need to be replaced now. Not when they are horrible every single minute as opposed to being horrible only every other game as they are now.

Feels like we've said the same things for 4 years straight

We have Shaw and Dalot, plus other younger players. Club has stock piled too many players in certain positions, some of whom are unable to string together 5 games in a row of being fit. Dalot would have gotten more game time if he'd been fit from the start of the season, ditto with Shaw.

Either way we're shallow in that space. Only 2 long term players. Both seem injury prone too. Wouldn't hurt to have another top right back. Especially since Dalot is capable of playing on either flank.

I personally don't think Shaw is any good, even at his best he gets into good positions and lacks end product. We at least need a senior left back to soak up a majority of minutes there. Same with Dalot unless Fosu Mensah is in the club's plans.

Shaw's gone backwards since signing his new deal, but he's got the rest of the season to prove himself again I expect.

Anyway, Darmian will be gone and we shouldn't expect much from Young moving forward. It would be wise to get a player in the summer. Whether as a starter or a back-up is the management's call; however, I think it should be a starter. I have little faith in Shaw. Even after taking his serious injury in to account, he has performed well in only a handful of games in his four seasons here. Which, imo, isn't good enough.

I'd look at Alex Telles for left back.
It's only Portugal, but he's been tearing it up for a couple of years now. If we bought Sandro, you'd guarantee Juve would have replaced him with this guy.

Apparently has a 35m buyout also.
I still have faith in Shaw, but he's been in 5 or so years now and we're still talking about what he might achieve.
We once had Heinze and Evra.
City have Walker and Danilo
Liverpool and Trent and Clyne

Theres enough games to go around

Hope we keep pursuing Lucas Hernández till he's confirmed outta our reach.

I had no idea Vermaelen was still at Barca, do they know?
It is pretty crazy. He has been there for four years, has fewer than 50 appearances and yet has won:
  • La Liga: 2014–15, 2015–16, 2017–18
  • Copa del Rey: 2015–16, 2017–18
  • Supercopa de España: 2018
  • UEFA Champions League: 2014–15
  • UEFA Super Cup: 2015
  • FIFA Club World Cup: 2015
He's also got a third place in the World Cup by his name when he started two out of the seven games they played.

Wow, that is a hell of a haul, guess it's better to be lucky than fit.

Juve and a free transfer. Wonder who will get Rabiot, probably Barca then or maybe Bayern

Think there were some reports a few days ago that Rabiot had already agreed a deal with Barcelona. Seems like the most likely scenario at this point.
