Sure why not....Dembele, Alder and Mag at the death!
"We can do in the market, what other clubs couldn't dream of"...like d*ck around for months and buy everybody on deadline day?

If that happened I'd be impressed and take back all my doubts about Woodward

Alderweirald for cash + Shaw then? with you picking up Kurzawa and us sending rose out on loan somewhere. Then hopefully we could go in for Maguire as a replacement? who knows

How much cash would Levy really want along with Shaw? Alderweireld is available for 25 mil next year, plus you have to worry about your non-homegrown quota as you are having a surplus now and not enough homegrown players. I don't think Spurs are really in a position to play hard ball. If they do, they are gonna screw over themselves more than us.

If United managed to get even 'just' Toby and Dembele this short summer window, I would be really impressed. Heck, even Mag and Dembele would be great signings. Sign Toby in January, but less than 24 hours to go, it seems highly unlikely at this moment.

Would this mean we're selling/swapping Pogba?

It's just baffling that it doesn't appear they're even considering bringing in a LB who is actually left-footed. So Sandro was the only LB on the list? Get a DOF and quarantine Woodward in the marketing and branding department.
Woodward doesn't set our targets...?

Alderweireld and Dembele would actually make our summer window a lot better. Almost similar to how Chelsea have resurrected their window with Kovacic and Kepa

Oh well, it's back to HMS Sneidjer, the ship that sailed.

United have been absolute crap in this transfer window. I don't expect much in the time that's left and definitely don't expect much from the season. We'll struggle to make top 4. I think Chelsea may edge us out to make top 4.
So you think Spurs will finish in the top four despite doing even less? The way I see it, their top four spot is more under threat than ours. We've still strengthened our midfield and Sanchez surely can't do any worse than he did when he first moved to us (I hope).

Ignoring the obvious fullback issues, the one thing that worries me is our reliance on De Gea. If we could sign an appropriate centre back before the window closes it'll be an okay window. Next summer we would have to get our fullback problem finally sorted but Dalot may surprise us all.

Another annoyance is the media jumping on everything to do with us and going on about this inevitable third season meltdown. On the back of tomorrow's papers I see:

'Barca prepared for Pogba chase'
'Mourinho furious with Pogba agent'
'Splash the cash - Sanchez: United must spend big before window shuts'
'United getting desperate but Pogba stays... for now'
'United set to miss target - Mourinho heading for clash with Old Trafford chief'

Compared to the following for Spurs:

'Give me my dream move - Grealish desperate to secure switch to Tottenham as top clubs battle to complete major deals'
'Have a Hart - Grealish desperate for Tottenham to make final deadline-day transfer move... and save his Champions League dream'

The difference in narrative is ridiculous. Once the window closes you can bet they won't be going on about how Spurs is in a crisis if they don't make any signings either.

Somehow on the Spurs forum they've made 2640 posts in their transfer thread over the past two days and their summer transfer thread has more posts than ours despite the caf having 20x the number of posts overall. Very weird.

Damien, you make a good point. However, Spurs play as a team and their team is pretty much intact. We are struggling to gel as a team (on the field) and our biggest issues have been our fullbacks which were not sorted. Our RW lacks width and creativity. There are too many gaping holes which were not addressed. Losing Alderweireld may not make them all that weaker considering he was injured for the most part and Davidson Sanchez became a regular towards the second half of the season.

My biggest reason for us struggling for top 4 is not the fact that our squad is worse than Spurs but the fact that all of Spurs' players apart form Alderweireld want to play for Poch while we have quite a few are not necessarily motivated by Jose.

Spot on.

Great post and 100% agree with the bold.

I'd go even further and add that I think our window was a very good one if we end up with either Alderweireld or Maguire and the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs don't bring anyone else in. Obviously if Chelsea add someone like Fekir or Zaha and also manage to keep Hazard then it's a tougher run at the top. At the end of the day, an okay/very good/great window is also dependant on what our competitors for Champions League places do. And at this stage Spurs haven't improved whilst Arsenal always had more ground to gain because of their 6th place finish.

No team has ever improved in the upper echelons of the Premier League by standing still. Spurs have fecked themselves.

I can read situations extremely well and I know I'll be right.

See for yourself anyway, Alisson will not join Madrid and they'll make another move for De Gea before the window ends.
I refer you to this bit...

You can laugh away, but when it comes to looking back at this in September, it'll be undeniable that I was right... And that I was right about saying that i'd be right

Yep. As I wrote in the last sentence there.

Those were just the replies to the Alisson bit. When Madrid inevitably make the De Gea approach, I'll have a lot more fun

Great posts there. "It'll be undeniable that I was right"

The Reddit guy says Tobi was our main target all summer but Levy is being a right cnut. I think the transfer will happen Berba style.

The state of this place if we actually buy the left back PSG don't want in order that they can replace him with the superior left back, instead of ourselves buying the superior left back.

Our players are championship level, the grass is greener and all that.

By the end of the day we'll have bought Kurzawa, Alderweireld and Fekir and we'll win the league!

Hahahahaha top red!

IF we get Kurzawa and Maguire/Toby then we’ve got the squad to go 3-5-2 and it’s a decent window.

Big IF though

"Kurzawa has been ‘courted’ by Manchester United ‘in recent hours’ according to the French newspaper.
Manchester United have made it clear they want to ‘take action’, but L’Equipe believe an exit at this stage is ‘difficult to imagine’."
