You said you could name at least 400 lb better than Young, which I highly doubt. And yet, I can see a list of 5.

Stop wumming.

A few of which are not definite upgrades. Gaya has been going backwards, Tierney and Dalbert are promising but not there yet, Grimaldo I would say is not better than Young.

Many of our fans want new players just for the sake of it, but what we really need is clear improvements in the first team. We have enough decent options in the squad.

Anyone else think Ruben Loftus Cheek would be worth trying to get? He is not going to play much especially if the rents get Kovacic, and he can play on the right as well as understudy for Pogba.

Kinda contradicts my previous post about a squad option I know!

The grass is always greener. Some of our fans get attached to names and just assume they're better players than what's at United.

He's a good dribbler, not top class and his final ball needs a LOT of work. I think any of our attacking players would do a better job on the right. He'd be decent as a project, but not as a starter, and he's definitely not better than the players we can play on the right.

The Corsican side are facing a huge fight to stay in the French top-flight but Saint-Maximin has still impressed, remarkably completing the highest number of take ons in Europe’s top five leagues with 125.

To put Saint-Maximin’s dribbling efforts into context, both Eden Hazard and Neymar trail him for take ons completed with 119 apiece, while Lionel Messi has succeeded with 73, over 50 fewer than the 20-year-old Frenchman.

Agree. I'd rather us stick to what we have than buy a rw or lb just for the sake of it without knowing if the players will be better than what we have atm.

Not two, they have 4 already in Maguire,Evans,Morgan and Benalouane.

Evans is injured so no surprise while Morgan is deemed past it by a lot of their fans and Benalouane has barely played for Leicester in 3 years. Not sure if that's enough.

I must admit I do like the statements Bilbao put out, thanks very much, now feck off. No compilations of the person whose buggered off performances, just move on.

Well, it's a matter of perspective. I respect their romantic view as each club can do the f*ck they want, I lived in Bilbao for a bunch of years and I perfectly know how the average Athletic supporter think, but I do not respect their behaviour at all when someone dares to leave. They are extremely salty c*nts lol

Each time a player DARES to abandon their marvelous idealistic pure ship, their beautiful holy land, they always go through the fox and the grapes syndrome.

-Meh, who cares, I never wanted you anyway!

Obviously do not know how true this is, but from my point of view, Boateng is the least attractive option. He is not floateng my boateng at all, would rather acquire Maguire or keep our eye held on Alderweireld.

How is this wumming? I'm providing information about the players available for the right wing and left back positions. You can disagree if you want to, fair enough. But it's not as if I'm not moving the discussion forward about our options.

Gaya and Grimaldo had injuries last season but are both better than Young, certainly long-term. Tierney is ready right now I believe, and Dalbert I agree is debateable but would be a great squad option. The point was - each of these is available for 30m or less and I believe would improve the team this season, whether on the squad level or in the first team it depends on how they integrate and recover from injuries.

oh no! you got me!

As I said, he's a good dribbler. His control isn't the best and is always on the verge of losing it. I'd like to see him against a packed defence, because I don't think his dribbling or control of the ball is good enough to unlock those types of defences. It's much harder to have great dribbling stats against an open team, than one sitting behind the ball. Last season we struggled against packed defences.

Either way, what use is dribbling with no end product? Mata had comparable numbers (2 less assists, played 300 minutes less) last season in a tougher league.

I do know what you mean. There are fans at every club who do that to be fair. You never want to see a good player leave, or that they think another club is better than theirs.

Of the players mentioned, I think only Tierney and maybe Dalbert might be worth a punt and both would be gambles. A clear upgrade would be the likes of Sandro or maybe Ghoulam.

Oh sure, even here in the Caf you can see it a lot of times. But, you know, they have that hint due to the nationalistic beliefs that makes them even more bitter about it lol

I know it looks like the club has no clue right now but I prefer to see it as, the press have no idea whom is a firm target over whoever else and we've kept our ranking of targets close to our chest.

I reckon itl be Alderwierald still.

Every player we buy is a gamble at this point, even Sandro and Ghoulam - another two we should be looking at. Tierney, as long as he's lucky with injuries, is a future world class left back and I believe he has the right attitude.

I don't know what I want. Was on the Bayern forums recently and they would all be raging if we were to get Boateng. what they say in a nutshell is without injuries he starts for them and is world class. world cup and some games prior to world cup not a true reflection.

at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we just overpaid for Maguire. Leicester are apparently bringing in 2 CBs (Söyüncü and Benkovic), so maybe they are open to selling after all.

For that analogy to be even remotely accurate the fox would have had previous unadulterated access to the grapes.

Also, the fact that foxes don't eat grapes or would even want them in the first place makes it even more stupid.
