There’s no value in the market and no opportunity to improve us at this stage. So how about we act like we’re the biggest club in the world and walk away from the ensuing deadline day train crash with perhaps a small amount of residual dignity intact? Let’s have some faith in our playing squad and what is apparently a world class manager. Bring on Leicester.

Well said. People act is if we're getting relegated if we don't sign anybody.

That would be 4pm tomorrow? I thought the deadline was 5pm?

Talksport definitely said 5pm earlier.
from the premier league website: The Premier League's summer transfer window is open and will close at 17:00 BST on Thursday, 9 August.

How is this wumming? I'm providing information about the players available for the right wing and left back positions. You can disagree if you want to, fair enough. But it's not as if I'm not moving the discussion forward about our options.

You said you can name 400 rw better than what we have.

Witsels agent claims we were interested in him, but our top target was Kante. As if that was ever going to happen

"There were other candidates. Manchester United wanted him, Napoli too. But I told Axel: 'At Dortmund you are the number one, at Manchester you are one of the many... and at Napoli too'."

He added "I know from a very good source that Mourinho said he wanted Witsel, but not in the first place.

"N'Golo Kante topped his list. Eventually Axel said: 'Do me a favour and finish it as quickly as possible because I really want to go to Dortmund'."

Randomly got watching the Fergie story from around 1998. In the second part of it around 8:40 in they have a bit in the boardroom and the then chairman Martin Edwards talks about not signing the most expensive players on the highest wages because it disrupts the current team, and Fergie mentions also not signing any old player thats going to be sat about and only having players that are going to improve the team.

Its no different nowadays, and I think its actually even more important if anything with the lunacy thats going on in the market. Weve got some great players at the club, its hard to sign better in some positions, we just need to get them playing. I can actually totally see why the board would not sanction 50, 60 million for like for like

That’s a fair logic but not in our case. Our fullback options are literally embarassing. I don’t care how much of a prospect Shaw is, the only thing he is right now is a reject by pretty much all his managers. Dalot has like 5 professional games and the other guys are not even fullbacks. And if you think this is bad, we don’t actually have RWs.

So, City for example, apply that logic and as we can see they are spending cautiously. We, on the other hand, we have to panic. At least if this club’s expectations still match it’s name.

Right, obviously that was an exageration as there aren't 400 RWs across the major leagues. My point was that United's sole focus on largely ungettable players is fecking crazy. There's so much potential in the market right now. The right wing version of Kante is out there. As is the next Messi and we're stuck on players that are expensive from rivals.

And Kessie, after already spending more than United so far.

Of course they would have, their owners are loaded with money and they obviously needed to upgrade their squad, coming from the Championship.

Haha. People get crazy this time of year. I'm talking in general terms about players that are available that would improve our team. As for Wolves, I agree. I'm saying United also need to upgrade the squad to win the Champions League, obviously. And we are also loaded, so we should be spending according to our wealth.
