I always think these quotes are so pointless. Every player is happy where they are til the point of a transfer being official. Why would you burn your bridges with the fans if it can still fall through? Not just with regards to Willian, because maybe he ll indeed stay but players seem to nearly always be happy to stay before a transfer is done.

Who else voted against? I don't understand why any team bar relegation fodder would be in favour of the new deadline. Especially with it being imposed during a World Cup summer, and with other leagues in Europe still having open windows.

That defensive swap is a no brainer. Caldara joining would secure Milan's CB pairing for at least 5-8 years along with Romagnoli. That's a brilliant deal for them.
I do wonder how accurate that is. But even distant lost in translation versions of that make me sick.
