Throughout the course of three seasons Mourinho got Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Ibrahimovic, Fred etc. Its not as if the manager was deprived from world class signings. Woodward also has to obey the Glazers and funds at United are not unlimited as some may like to believe.

Since Mourinho came we have heard stories about Pogba leaving, Martial leaving, Jose losing the dressing room. Apparently one shit storm after another.

Basically it is just the fallout from the press conference quotes. This is the first set of papers since then so they're turning stuff like the quotes about the 5 man list into 'relationship at an all time low' etc. Very predictable.

It's bad and lazy journalism (if you can call it that)! Perhaps Mourinho should do a Trump and put out his daily tweets telling us how it really is.

Daily mail should be banned from this forum, them and the sun are the most shite newspapers I've seen in my entire life, they are toilet paper as far as I am concerned. Both of them clown papers have reported bs stories like Bale to man utd is done multiple times in the past, and my fav story that one time they claimed Ronaldo had a secret dinner with SAF planning his return, absolute pricks the lot of them.

I wouldn’t let that shite near my arse.

I totally agree with you, but how is earning £30m over 10 years for example going to be a different lifestyle to earning £20m?

£10M to be exact. Nobody would walk away from that kind of money, it would be ridiculous

I appreciate he could lose £5/6m from moving to a smaller club on a smaller wage but I dont agree with the logic. Football is a 15-20 career at best. There are obviously mercenaries but I would think somebody liek Drinkwater would want to play as much as possible, maybe even harbouring England hopes. Its hardly like if he drops to £90l a week he has to desperately start thinkign about a pension plan is it

He is at 90k at Chelsea. Don't know who said 150k and why but that's crazy. Even at United he wouldn't get that much.

Jose and his third year.

Yeah, he’s had 3rd year issues at clubs such as Chelsea and Real Madrid. But aren’t those clubs run very differently than United?
I look at where we were a couple of years ago, after Moyes and LVG, and then I look at where we are now. I see a lot of progress has been made under Mourinho, and he still deserves our support regardless of what has happened at those 2 other clubs.

I would get rid of Rojo and Jones before him, but personally wouldnt be sad to sell him anyway IF we were actually signing a couple of quality centre backs. BS anyway, as if it would be Mourinho saying not to Lyon not the board, is he on speed dial

Mourinho said Woodward was on holiday just the other week, crazy when we obviously need his full attention for transfer activity.
Just goes to show that the CL has ruined the clubs ambition, as long as we qualify for it the club are happy enough but they are not willing to spend the money needed to actually compete for it or the PL as the sums don't add up. What a depressing state of affairs.

Not meant argumentatively but where are you seeing a lot of progress? He has got us back into the champions league and in the top four the last two years, he has won an FA cup (so did LVG) and the Europa league which was one bit of good progress but not a tournament we should be in but arent those kind of the minimum requirements?

That quote was fake. He never said that. Try to verify stuff before making claims like this.

We've come to the point where if We read positive news, We'd try to get more sources to confirm but if it's negative We'd put a blinder and moan straight away because it's so easy to do and feels good to complain when things go wrong. :wenger:

I'd keep Lindelof. He had a pretty poor 1st season with us but he has more potential than pretty all out other CBs apart from Bailly. Instead i'd be looking to offload Rojo and Jones who we know will let us down.
I’d keep rojo ahead of Jones and smalling as rojo looked the most solid of the three during his run of games and prior to his injury.

If United don't buy another CB, I would prefer they keep Lindelof for now. If they do buy someone like Toby, then maybe he could go on loan. Worst case (if it really is considered bad) loan with option to buy, and United have the first option/buy back clause.

The minimum requirements were not being met by Moyes & LVG. We wasted time under those managers and had to catch up with our squad over the last couple of years. Still needs work though.

Exactly. But Martial doesn't want his selling price to be more expensive, because that make it more difficult for him to get an exit - why anyone finds this baffling is beyond me.

No he doesn't. No player that desperately wants out, wants that. But not all of them, despite that, go acting the way Martial is, hence my criticism of his methods. But, it's his life and his choice to make so I wish him well.

I remember reading about Gaitan signing over and over!! We don't even have that this year hahhaha Seriously tho a RW are we even in the market, or hoping Lingard is a worldie?

Simon Stone tweets this as if these are Mourinho’s words, but he slightly changes the words in the quotes and at the same time completely changes the meaning. When you read Simon Stones quotes, the tweet comes across as if Mourinho wanted 5 players for different positions but he will only be getting one.

What Mourinho actually said (the interview is on MUFC website), he wants 2 more players but it looks like he will only get 1. For that one, he gave a list to the club of 5 players a few months ago, and he is waiting to see if he gets one of those 5, if it’s possible.

Listen after 3:08.

His interview is so misquoted it's not even funny.

Do people not realise that we are part of the Available Heuristic. Media publishes story (negative) > we react to it with anger > media publishes more negative stories to satisfy our need for it. STOP FREAKING OUT over every little news. Its what the media feeds on and it will continue till we take stock of our emotions. This isn't just about united, but daily life (other world topics)

This section of the united forum is public and this is a huge popular forum. How you react to news determines the sort of news you receive. You have the power to change the atmosphere around our club.

That is all I have to say.

I'm at the point where I'm thinking that everything Mourinho says and does is just a ploy to dampen our odds at making a title race and make it seem like we're unstable to our rivals, but when the season starts he has the tactics nailed down and we've also solved some of the holes in our squad. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but after being fed so much negativity on here and through the press my mind has just set this as the thing that's happening.

Silly thing is Dier, although Captained England in the past, doesn't count as Home Grown

Youngsters Amos and Walker-Peters will be upgraded into Squad this year so numbers not a problem as reported by garbage press
Yeah, that is bonkers!!
However I've just read that Spurs have lost a couple of youth players on the verge of breaking through, they appear to be looking at other clubs rather than staying at Spurs, including Edwards who is quality, which is strange as the general consensus is that Poch will give them a chance.

I think this is at play behind the scenes. Also expecting 2 forward line up than 1. It’s always 2 forward when front line has first team potential starters. Martial, Sanchez and mata all played in 2 up front.

It's quite common managers lower expectations. Injuries and lack of transfers are easy targets. This is so they are not blamed for the teams failures or alternatively hailed as saviours despite the odds if the team does well.
