Hell yeah, I'm not even madridista and I want him to be signed lol I've been repeating here like crazy it would be a match made in heaven for Lopetegui's system. I can't think of a more fitting striker potentially available. Rodrigo Moreno would be hilarious, after having Benzema so many years you bring Rodrigo to Madrid fans and they gonna kill you, Flo

Incoming another public statement of Madrid not approaching PSG player :wenger:

You want Smalling as your first choice Cb and also want Lukaku replaced? Are you sure you've been watching the right team this past year?

Without Lukaku we are dead in the water, if he gets an injury our season would be over very quickly. That’s why we need to have a replacement experienced striker.

Lukaku replacement as in a back-up to Lukaku (who has a great record with fitness and seldom misses a game) or a replacement as in a player who will replace Lukaku as our main striker? If it's the former I think that's a waste of money when we can really upgrade areas in our first XI if it's the latter then I strongly disagree. Lukaku's one of our better players.

Backu up. If he does get injured, our season would be over as I don’t believe Rashford or Martial can lead the line.

I'd agree with this. One problem is though if we do sign someone capable of leading the line it would cost probably 50-60m and you can't leave a player with that fee on the bench or sit Lukaku.

Maybe Alexis could do adequately as #9. Not ideal, but I think we are better focusing on areas that would make our best XI much stronger.

I agree. United do need a second striker. My feeling is Juve could be convinced to part with Mandzukic. If not him United should definitely sign a good young striker with potential. But even then having to rely on Smalling is a bad, bad scenario.

Most sane individuals would. Far too big of a risk to sell him domestically.

I agree. At the same time, I´m going insane under Mourinho, and I think we should consider using him to get Toby. If he flops; fine, Mourinho, was right all along. If he succeed, that should be an eye-opener for the Ed and board, and it could be a measure that will «save» Rashford? Can we persist with a manager unable to maximize the potential of talents? The board might not care that it is not the United Way, but it is expensive. And I´m sure they care about that!

Martial currently offer very little to us. Toby would solve a lot of our issues. Sacrificing Martial if we get something useful in return would help.

I have to say id be very underwhelmed to swap martial for Toby A or Willian. Maybe I’m overating him but we should be using him as a makeweight for deals involving better players

Martial has a potential future value that could be heading to £200m so £90m is the minimum you'd want and Alderweirld can't be more than £50m at a fair price. So its £40m minimum add on I'd want to see.

Martial is not fetching £90m. Potential means jack shit if you can't show it on the pitch. Memphis Depay had potential. Everyone has potential. At this point in time, £50-60m would be a fair price for Martial and we should take it if an offer comes in.

I think I'd cry if Martial was involved in a swap for either Willian or Toby A, fecking hell.

I'm with you. Madness swapping someone with so much potential and an almost endless top end price point for players at top wack with zero potential gain in value.

Only way it makes sense is if we receive £90/100m for Martial and get Alderweild or Willian at say £50/60m absolute max. That way we receive some payment on the potential of Martial and pay a fair price for one of the other two.

Personally I'd rather we get Martial to work! Young, good record in the Prem. Great rounded potential.

Martial has shown a lot, plenty of goals and assists and a rounded skill set. Yes more work required, but to say he is only worth what we've paid when the market has doubled in that time is idiotic.

And yes you do pay for potential, otherwise why bother selling. You have an asset that at minimum is worth what you brought it for, at maximum could be maybe 4x that. Selling for double is a compromise where the buyer still has a chance to make an adequate profit or have a player smashing their cost in terms of valuation.

LB and RW, I would agree. But we are continuing to be linked with centerbacks who may not be a whole lot better than what we have, and are also 50-60m, and I don’t see the urgency there. At times under SAF Carrick and Fletcher had to play centerback, but we didn’t go out to purchase a CB every summer; we did however make sure to always have multiple capable strikers.

Swapping him for Toby or Willian seems underwhelming, if we do sell him and I am begining to believe we will, Martial should be the make weight for somebody better.

A lot of our fans hyped him up. He has some good qualities but he is far from the finished article, he can be rash at times and he is poor in the air also.

I'll be honest I thought he may have enough about him to play as RB ? or at least on the right of a back three, he seems to have to many mistakes in him to play at the top in a CB partnership with any of our current crop.

Agree. Based on what we’ve seen, he’s not shown anything that can’t be replaced imo.

I'm not too worried as it seems that Woodward etc. have learnt how to keep a potential transfer deal quiet. Lukaku, Matic and Bailly all happened very quickly (fee not the medicals). All it means is that we probably won't sign anyone with a very high profile (Bale etc), which I'm fine with.

I would rather we sell Martial for 40 million plus but back clause than 60 million with no buy back. We are loaded (although we are being fecking stingy in the market), we don't need that 20/30 million.
I hope we sell him to a club we have good relations with. And no matter how much they pay us, please do not sell him to Chelski or Spurs
