That’s a blow to Chelsea.
Yeah, it's disappointing. I think our club must feel Barkley is ready to go in that position. He and Fabregas competing for the 3rd midfielder role playing in front of Kante and Jorginho.

I was about to say that you've lost out on a few transfers over the last year or so, but you did steal Jorginho away from City.

Seems like we drag our feet on every big name transfer target these days. We feck about trying to negotiate lower fees and then another club will swoop in and just pay what the asking price is.

Pogba, Stones, Van Dijk, Lukaku. All players we were strongly linked with. Thankfully we've hit on many others.

"Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and will continue as manager with their full support."

Seen this kid play. He's the real deal. I know Guardiola marvelled over him in training, but the PsG fans hyped this kid over a year ago. Has all the tools at a young age. Could very well compete for Fernandinho's place within a year.

Think City will sell him after few seasons on loan, they always sell the player to fund their mega spending.

How are people overate Martial that much ? on which planet is he worth more than 60/70M ? that's his price. he showed immense talent in his first season then stagnated for two years.

Usually the caf underates and shits on all united players but with Martial it's another story.

If it were us buying someone like Martial, i would be absolutely livid if the club paid more than 60M.

He would have been sold for more than that if he didn't open his mouth. right now everyone knows that he wants to leave and nobody is gonna pay more than his fair price.

My guess is Chelsea as Sarri knows how good a cenre back he is, if so glad they turned it down. If it was us, I am gutted they turned it down.
A proper defender big, strong, quick, good in the air, leadership qualities at the back and he is good on the ball too. Everything we need, I think he is the partner Bailly needs to flourish. Personally as crazy as a £100m fee would be for a defender I would be happy to sell the bang average Lindelof, Rojo and Jones and another £40m to get him.

He’s talking out of his ass. He did not reject a £90 million bid.

Well he can look forward to his career going backwards now that he's joining City then.

Shame for the lad.

Based on the posts here he's guaranteed to be better than anyone we've seen where a United shirt.

I know they are both obviously talented but havent both Martial and Rashford probably shown the most potential when they first broke through under LVG and to a degree both stagnated under Mourinho?

I would ask if that is Mourinho not managing them so well or that with the initial start both made to there careers here they have been a bit over rated? Personally I think it is a bit of both, Rashford in particular as much as I enjoy watching him because he is quick and exciting, seems to have a lot missing from his game

There's no way we'd bid £90-100m on anyone, nevermind a CB. Especially being out of the CL.

Yep, can't see it.

City have repeatedly brought in ridiculous fee centre backs in Mangala, Stones, Otamendi and LaPorte. There's no way they're then spending 90m now.
Can't see us going that high either.

Was about to quote Lukaku and Pogba fees then I realised you meant Chelsea :) Im sure he was the first player Conte tried to sign from memory

Well if McGuire is worth £50-60m he is worth over £90m, as ridiculous as that is

So he not worth it because of his ability but he would have been sold for more if he hadn't opened his mouth? Failing to follow your logic here.

Yeah, but back then his price was rumored to be £60m. In just 18 months his price has ballooned thanks to Liverpool destroying the CB market.

Dembele fetched 100m a year ago,Martial is absolutely worth at least 70-80m given the production's had in England at a young age

Seeing him used as a makeweight for a 30 year old would sum up the state of the club under current management...

Then he's gone to the wrong club and manager. He'll never get a look in being that he's young and didn't cost a ton.

Such a weird move from his point of view. Why not go to Monaco or a club similar to that?
