I'd be very surprised if he wasn't tbh. According to Mourinho, Bailly was dropped to get the other CB's playing time so that they could make the World cup. Bailly will be straight back into the team come next season imo.
He was dropped cause he wasn't good in the second half of last season. That was easy to see. Mourinho just didn't want to state it outright.

@DuncanCastles-
Understand that Manchester City have made progress in their attempt to sign Portugal under-21 international Rafael Leao following a meeting this week. #MCFC #SCP #POR

Very highly regarded young striker.

That was a bullsh*t excuse. Bailly was dropped, simple as that.

Mourinho may have got tired of his injuries, but I wouldn't say Bailly was poor. If I remember correctly, near the end of the season, Mourinho played Smalling pretty much every game and switched his partner with Jones, Lindelof and Rojo. I strongly doubt Bailly was demoted to 5th choice CB regardless of how badly you're saying he played.

Its a new club every day with this guy. He may as well be standing in a shop window with a red light on in the background.

We'll be strongly linked soon too. He was raved about a lot before getting to Barca. Barca supposedly even tried to sign him at his original Colombian club but settled on a first refusal clause in return for not getting into a transfer race with Palmeiras. They finally decided to cash in on it and get him after two brilliant seasons in Brazil.

I recall he had a very bad game against Levante (a lot of players did), but I don't know what turned them off so much that they decided he wasn't good enough after 4 starts and a 20 minute sub appearance just so he'd get a winners medal for the league. He is still 23 after all. Maybe he wasn't elegant enough on the ball for Barca standards.

But absolutely monstrous in the air (so much so that he absolutely gobbled up Maguire on that goal against England) and quite good at intercepting the ball and initiating counters. He's not the best on the floor or particularly speedy but that's expected with such a huge man. Everton should definitely get him to partner Keane who'll compliment him well.

Every year we are signing a commanding centerback. In the meantime, Smalling is becoming a commanding centerback. His passing leaves something to be desired, but his defensive work is top notch. I’ll take a RW or Striker (Lukaku replacement) any day over another CB.
You want Smalling as your first choice Cb and also want Lukaku replaced? Are you sure you've been watching the right team this past year?

Replacement? You mean back-up?

Hell yeah, I'm not even madridista and I want him to be signed lol I've been repeating here like crazy it would be a match made in heaven for Lopetegui's system. I can't think of a more fitting striker potentially available. Rodrigo Moreno would be hilarious, after having Benzema so many years you bring Rodrigo to Madrid fans and they gonna kill you, Flo :lol:

Lukaku replacement as in a back-up to Lukaku (who has a great record with fitness and seldom misses a game) or a replacement as in a player who will replace Lukaku as our main striker? If it's the former I think that's a waste of money when we can really upgrade areas in our first XI if it's the latter then I strongly disagree. Lukaku's one of our better players.
