"Zinedine Zidane signs for Juventus. The ex Real Madrid coach will join in October as football director."

Chelsea could be exciting to watch next season if it all comes together it seems for them with Sarri. This is a fine front 6 to be honest:

Hazard - Higuain - Willian
--------Golovin
------Kante---Jorginho---

Not a patch on their previous line ups in my opinion. Like the one from 2-3 years ago...

Hazard - D.Costa - Willian
--------Fabregas
------Kante---Matic---

It will highly depend on how quickly Sarri gets to grips with his quad and makes them play good football (if he manages it this year, or at all). If he makes a team equal or greater than the sum of its parts, then they can be a force. But the line-up itself does not appear particularly intimidating to me.

Sarri always gets his teams to play good football. He just never gets them to win trophies.

Ready replacement for whenever Allegri moves on?

Juve will be a bigger pull for players now they've got CR7 and Zidane.

It's surprising. A lot of Real Madrid fans will be furious, but can't say the guy lied, he explicitly promised in his public farewell he was going to take a year off coaching. He never said he wasn't going to be in another football areas.

Kante, Jorginho, Golovin.

Respectable balance to it - two endless runners and an insightful passer playing deeper.

I’d worry about the lack of goals, though. Willian gets none, Hazard will only scrape double figures at his best and neither Giroud nor Morata are clinical forwards. The Higuain rumour will soak up a lot of goals, I guess.

Yes, but within the confines of Italian football. Even the Great Pep struggled in his first season here despite having near-infinite resources.

It's 17th of July and kick off is on the 10th of Aug. I can't believe that Chelsea will be playing Napoli's football in less than 4 weeks. Or in the next 4 months, tbh.

Doubt it too, but if they manage to play good football just 3 weeks into his tenure we might need to reflect on that.

Still think there will be a lot of in's and out's at Chelsea in the coming weeks. Think Courtois & Willian will go. Think Drinkwater will go. Think RLC will go on loan again. Now even rumors Cahill may go which I think is for the best. Hazard I think will stay simply because there wouldn't be enough time to replace him and I doubt Real Madrid will cough up the 200m we would hopefully demand for him.

Biggest questions in regards to incomings is striker for me. We surely cannot go through a season with only Morata and Giroud again. Batshuayi won't return only to sit on the bench again. Higuain seems like a huge risk.

Better to enjoy the games while City walk the league again than to watch tumescent football as the sensible posters on here say.

Higuain may be a bottler, but not a risk. 20-25 gols per season if you can play some decent football. He is a quick fix and a short term solution though

Fair point there.

Zidane initial plan was to be a football director, that's what he studied at the end of his career.

Chelsea will 100% hijack this deal I think.

More likely, we'll instead go for Butland to help our homegrown quota.

I'd much, much rather we paid €30m more and triggered Oblak's release clause. I mean, Alisson is good and probably the best goalkeeper available after Courtois (who doesn't want to come), but he's certainly not in the top bracket of GKs for me.

Fair enough, but he's certainly an upgrade on what you currently have.

On paper at least, Klopp is building an impressive team at Liverpool to be honest.

Remains to be seen how they perform on the pitch of course, but if I was a Liverpool fan I'd be optimistic.

(You scouse b*stards)

Then why is he better than Ederson then?
He's not, and Ederson isn't world class either.

Yeah sure, no doubt about that and I'll still be happy if it's Alisson!

It pains me to say, but you're right. Keita, Fabinho, Shaqiri and now maybe Alisson.

Oblak is a great shot stopper, but poor on the ball and poor when it comes to commanding his area. Fine for Atletico Madrid playing in la liga. Bad fit for this league and bad fit for us.

Allison is so overrated for God sake. I even witnessed a poster on this forum saying he is better than Courtois and De Gea. Oblak would be a better signing for Liverpool
