Madrid are obviously going to promise him a starting role now Ronaldo has gone. He won’t leave now

They'll make the usual promises, and he'll accept them like always probably. Next summer he'll want out again and go looking for the same promises. Rinse and repeat.

Bale isnt coming for sure . I think he enjoys the summer speculations linking him with us and the media plays it out too much . I believe we are still going for Perisic as Mourinho seems to have a liking for him . But Inter will be hard to deal with . I can also see us going for Manzdukic as back up for Lukaku and Juventus are looking at substitute player sales with Hugain tough to transfer out because of his wages and transfer amount . So with Ronaldo coming in and effectively taking over Manzdukic position of Left wing and striker in the Juventus squad . Manzdukic will want out and try out new pastures .

I do believe we will sign atleast 2 more players most probably a CB and back up striker . I think if we also end up getting Perisic then we will possibly go 3-5-2 with Perisic and Valencia as wingbacks .

I think that will only happen if Madrid sees Bale as the substitute for Ronaldo which I doubt will be the case. You can bet they will be making one or two mega signings to replace Ronaldo. If they do that, I don't see how they will guarantee Bale playing time.
I actually think now will be the smart time for Madrid to sell off Bale for a big fee. That's what I would do.

Luke Shaw has failed as LB, for 4 seasons. You now want to give him a 5th season?
What logic is being used here - genuine question.

Agreed on all of the above, though, which is why I am perplexed on the logic being used for Shaw.

If he had failed - but the fact is, I didn't think he was bad at all the few times he was given a chance. In my of the games, he was actually quite ok for a player who completely lacked game-time.

Give him a chance - let him play 10-15-20 games - if he fails again, fine - sell him. But Mourinho never gave him a chance last season. I don't think anyone can claim he was poor when given a chance. And I am still convinced if we let him go now - he will go to a club below us and return to the form which made us sign him in the first Place.

"Inter will only do a deal based on a loan with option to buy, but given the defender’s contract expires on June 30 that would appear to be impossible.
However, Gazzetta believes there is an option for United to trigger a one-year extension to Darmian’s deal, which would then allow them to loan him to the Nerazzurri"

Agree. They'll make some more signings and Bale will be lucky if he gets any more game time this coming season. I could see him coming to Utd if that's his main issue.

Just so they can loan him and then not buy him next year just to get him even cheaper or even free the year after...

If they want a loan it should be a compulsory purchase after that. They know what they are getting with Darmian.

Wouldn't be too sure of that. They may have James coming back and will obviously look to buy one or two galacticos (Hazard, Mbappe etc)

I mean he was playing pretty well until he got that big injury.

Not really? I visit GrandOldTeam quite a-bit and they have basically never taken to him. I mean, his output is terrible, he’s all tricks no brains.

Well who am I to argue with Everton fans. It was expensive at the time but I genuinely felt like he was a big threat for them.

Seriously, who believes that nonsense? James is a Bayern player and nothing will change this. The sources reporting this BS are clueless and the people believing this are even worse.

He had a few good months for Palace alright which promoted Everton to buy him. I think he got a hat trick for them in his final season there. He’s exciting on form but badly lacks end product.

Not trying to sign Mahrez seems more and more ridiculous by each passing day given our RW situation and other options out there.

When Bale eventually has this meeting, I doubt they are going to say anything other than that he will be guaranteed minutes. No way will they say that he may as well go because they’ve got a Hazard/Neymar lined up. Hopefully they do though and he packs his bags for Manchester :wenger:
