Ronaldo would help Italian football a whole lot, as its current reputation is being rather boring and lacklustre. Ronaldo would turn heads and make people around Europe watch the games on TV again.

By turning it into even more of an uncompetitive joke than it already is. If he joined Napoli then great, but what good is it for the league for him to join the side that has won 6 in a row?

100mil euros and 4 year contract on 30 mil per season for 33y old player and biggest primadonna in football. Madness.
But i still expect that he stays. He will get new contract and say how mqdrid is his home, etc...

That should be Neymar but supposing it's Ronaldo, who cares? He has been one of the best two players on the planet for about 10 years now and one of the greatest ever in the game. When you bang in about 50 goals per season, you can be a primadonna for as long you want.

Maybe taking the Champions League back to Italy?
Juventus has been close recently. Ronaldo might just provide that little extra push they need.

Juve have actually won it 7 years in a row even haha - last winners were AC Milan back in 10-11 season with Zlatan and Allegri etc.

You have a point, but on the other hand signing Ronaldo is absolutely a huge deal. Even at 33, a top 10 (nevermind top 2) player heading to an Italian club hasn't happened for quite a while, so it would be a bit of a statement at least.

I completely agree.
Its a different version of the Neymar to PSG story when we were told about how it would help French football explode onto the viewing public.
Turned out most fans only caught highlights of anything worth watching from France while the games they did watch were in the CL which most would watch anyway.

So Ronaldo wants to add to his league titles as that is unlikely to happen in a declining Real Madrid side. Very smart man.

Do you think he'll be OK with that? Being forced to play in a position he doesn't prefer?
Also he won all those Ballon D'ors playing on the left, it will be idiotic to buy him for 100 million, pay him sky high wages to just play him out of position.
RW is hardly out of position for him. Either way he's a goal per game player, still in incredible shape, we could even move Lukaku slightly out wide or play them both together. All I can say is that if he goes elsewhere for €100m we sure as hell better spend that money incredibly elsewhere.

Uncompetitive in what way? Juve were pushed more than any title winning team last season.

Not only that, the teams around them have continued to strengthen (Roma, Napoli, Inter). Sure Ronaldo would take Juventus to another level, but the league as a whole is still majorly competitive, and all the attention on the league would only be good for the other teams. It also makes Juventus a top 3 favorite for the CL title, which again benefits Italian football if they were to win it.

We're being linked with Shaqiri for 12m and have agreed terms with Sandro who will join for 53m. The former source is the sun though and possibly even the latter.

Feels like they've been close to signing him for the past two weeks. From the replies:

Cool so that’ll be £10 million for him; £20-30mill for Mitro... and we have splashed out £5 mil for Dubravka ... and £0 for Ki so by Ashley’s calculations we have at least £0 million left to spend on new players

Really?

In the way that the same team has won it 7 years straight.

Real Madrid C. F. and the Real Sociedad have agreed the transfer of the player Álvaro Odriozola, pending the medical examination.

The player is linked to the club for the next six seasons.

Ah what a player! Ah well hopefully Dalot turns out to be good too.

Great signing by Real Madrid, best last season wonderkid along Rodri (Villarreal, now signed by Atletico) and the Betis kids (like Fabian, now signed by Napoli).

Great signing for them, he'll be a top player for a long time at that club i reckon.

Big. He’ll sort them out for a while at right back.

Carvajal is only 26, but he often has some small injuries so hopefully Odriozola will get enough games for Real. Hakimi has a great potential too and the loan to Dortmund is the right thing.

But yeah, they will not have a problem on the Right Back position for many years.

I don’t think it will take very long at all for Odriozola to surpass Carvajal, who I don’t particularly rate anyway.

Dont know anything about him, whats wrong with Madrids right backs as is?

Is it a case of Madrid adding more quality than they have or is he a cant miss prospect?

What does that mean for Carvajal? Odd signing that.

What should it mean for Carvajal?
They have Marcelo and Theo on the left, now Carvajal and Odriozola on the right. They need two top players for each position (often one bit older and a younger one) and the better one will play.

Looks like Odriozola isn't the best defensively, but i haven't watched every Sociedad game to be fair.
