We may not sign him but I think he's perfect for 4-2-3-1 with Fred as #6-#8 hybrid who cleans up and Rabiot as the tall ball playing DM ( although he's not a pure DM )
We should have signed him rather than giving Fellaini a new contract but yeah now I don't see us signing him. Maybe City will Jorginho deal falls through or maybe Juve as their entire midfield is ancient

The source is Paris United. His contract expires in 2019 and looks like he won't be renewing.

I'm a big fan of his, but I'm not sure where he'd fit in the current team. Unless Pogba goes the other way or something.

He plays in the same position (a sort of box-to-box CM) that Fred and Pogba play in. More precisely on Fred's position of RCM. He wouldn't be happy sharing playing time with Fred. Also he's not disciplined enough for the DM role yet and we have Matic (who has settled fine) and Herrera (as a decent back up) there.

I can see needing 3 quality box-to-box CMs if we switched to a midfield 3 formation, the issue always is who's on the bench.

And how much did Barca have to pay for Coutinho? Salah will be more and i doubt Madrid will want to spend that sort of money on one player.

I’m sure we’ll be linked to LB targets soon. Going into next season with Ashley Young at LB would be so stupid. Just can’t see it happening.

It will be more if he has the same sort of season as last. Let everyone see how he does before slapping a mega fee on him.

Barcelona spent loads on Coutinho and he never reached anything close to Salah’s level at Liverpool. His last 6 months were very good but they wanted him before that.

They’ll pay what they have to if they really want a player.

We have young, Shaw, rojo and Dalot who can all play LB. I can’t see it happening unless one of them leaves first
