I definitely see Martial leaving but the idea of Juventus giving us £80m for him is just too stupid to believe. The only way I see that happening is if it's something like Alex Sandro + £40m or so.

Do PSG even own Mbappe yet?

Last time I checked he was still on loan from AS Monaco.

*If* he wants to leave and PSG plan to sell him for half of what they bought him for (+ and inferior player in Martial, even though I love martial), he would be wanted by any team in the world. Including his dream side Real Madrid alongside his idol Ronaldo. Didnt say we are undesirable, but we arent in the top 5 when it comes to Mbappe I'd bet.

Mbappe is absolutely amazing player and there is absolutely no chance psg sell him.

Kylian Mbappé Lottin is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, on loan from Monaco, and the France national team. Wikipedia

Who are the top 5 then?
Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG, City? Pretty easy choices. We're on the next tier with the likes of Juve in terms of draw. The past 5 years have obviously had an impact. And even so, we were behind Madrid and Barca anyway back then.

They have an obligation to buy him... pretty sure that option was already exercised anyway. He's a PSG player, not Monaco.

Type Juve, when they don't get the player for the price they want to pay they 'take a step back as he's not priority'
So their offer of a 5 year loan with an option to buy wasn't accepted?
Maybe 1m per year for the next 25 years would work?

Disagree on PSG and City. United are far more of a pull. To say the club are less sought after then City and PSG is a real insult and nonsensical.

For someone like Mbappe? He went to PSG, of course they are more sought after. They managed to get Neymar too. Due to money of course, but it stands. As for City... well they have Pep in charge who is a bigger draw for most attacking players, and are the current champions and favourites to win it the next couple of years, and far more likely to win the champions league then we are. Not sure if you missed last season, we had a pretty shit year in the end. Why on earth would we be a bigger draw then City to attacking players like Mbappe? Especially considering he'd thrive in a Pep system rather then a Mourinho one.

You just don't get it do you?

Dont get what? Or are you trying to say we are still up there with Madrid and Barca like we were 10 years ago when luring in the top young talent in the world who is French and grew up supporting Real Madrid (and the only thing he actually said regarding English teams was he liked Arsenal and Wenger...). Different for English talent, completely different for someone like Mbappe though. Not a chance in hell we get him.

Their MO makes a lot of sense. Hunt for good, smart deals, only spend the big money on bona fide stars or guaranteed stars. They won't go overboard for Golovin because they don't believe he's a sure thing. If he was they'd have paid whatever CSKA asked

If someone wanted to play in the PL United are still the top pull. That's a fact. Historically, financially and with one of the games current managerial legends in charge.

Not sure what you're on about.

 I love how you are trying to present this as fact. Why would City be a better draw than us? The three biggest clubs in the world are United, Barca and Madrid with Juve not far from behind. The only draw the oil clubs have is money and that alone does not give them access to this stupid tier bollocks gamers and redditors wank over.

United Barca both Madrids and Juve have been in at least 2 or 3 CL finals in the last decade where as Qatari SG and Abu Dhabi United havent sniffed one. Players will go to clubs for many different reasons and its certainly nothing to do with fecking tiers.

You just don't get it do you?

The “pull” is the shady deal of £200, 000, 000 no sensible club in their right minds would pay for anyone...

The irony is that the reason they even did this was to try and attract players to build their profile to force themselves in the same limelight and profile with clubs like United. We are where they want to be in terms of pull.

We have some right fecking clueless shite on here don’t we?

?? Mbappe literally went to PSG despite knowing every team in the world would be after him. He wouldnt have gone there if he didnt want to. Monaco would've gotten a feck ton of money from anyone. It's not some bollocks about tiers. We blatantly dont have the same draw for certain players anymore, nothing wrong with admitting that. Until we start seriously competing for the big trophies again, I dont think that will change. Of course we can still lure in big players... but we arent the top pick. Doesnt matter that we're a bigger team then City or PSG, that doesn't change that they're both currently better sides and can offer more money and are better suited to attacking players.

Think we used to be where they want to be. Now we arent the top club in terms of luring players in anymore. Amongst the top in England, sure, but City can offer more money and a bigger guarantee of trophies and attacking football more suited to players like Mbappe. I just dont see us there when we havent seriously competed for big trophies since Sir Alex retired, and while we do offer stupid wages and dont shy away from some big deals, we dont quite have the funds of City and PSG.

Anyway, my opinion. Would love to be proved wrong and us bring him in or others like him. Just dont see it happening.

Only reason he didn’t go to Madrid because even Perez did not want to pay that ludicrous sum.

Even though clubs like PSG cheat the system they still have to pay £60, 000000 because they overspent FFP

I suppose Sanchez is not an attacking player we “lured” or Lukaku or, x or y or z

If Madrid close the signing of Alisson for 70m€ Keylor would be ready to move to Napoli

Yeah we lured Sanchez over City, and I said at the time we had plenty of reasons that we would be a bigger draw (Sanchez played with Pep and didnt have the best of times in the past, him being older and in the past being big on United back in his younger days, etc).
Lukaku? We're easily the biggest club who wanted him. Pep would never go for him, barca/madrid/bayern/juve/PSG had no need nor would they go for him at the time. Plus, of course we can still lure in top players. Mbappe is literally the best young player of the past decade and was an instant star. Not for a second did I ever think we had a chance with him, and I dont think we do now.

Also, yeah you can say they cheat the system... but they still brought in Neymar and Mbappe in the end, no matter how sketchy the deals were. Obviously if everyone had the same funds we would be ahead of them in lure, but they have that much more money that it puts them up there.

So why did Sanchez and Fred pick United over City? Surely, they are very attack minded players.
And Neymar (and Mbappe most likely) has now seen the futility of joining PSG by now. I just can't see how PSG is ever a stronger pull for a player than a United team managed by Jose Mourinho and competing in the Premier League.

City were reluctant to pay Sanchez's wages as well as the fee Arsenal would want, while I don't think there's anything that conclusively linked City with a move for Fred this summer. City's focus for signings has been on Jorginho and Mahrez.

I disagree with bosnian but don't think those two players are the best example.

Took a page out of the Neymar playbook there. Gotta love those players who are disloyal to their club and still demand a fecking loyalty bonus when they ride off in the sunset with the mega contract of their next employer in the hands

I have no idea how you can say that about Sanchez when City offered a huge pay packet and had already agreed terms with Sanchez. They were by all accounts ready to pay Sanchez wage demands and give £60m to Arsenal in the summer before 17/18 for him (Wenger said he would have sold him in hindsight to City in the summer)

We outbid City and also made the deal smoother for Arsenal by offering Mkhi. Sanchez could have waited until the summer and moved for £13m net per season with a £30m signing on bonus, instead he chose to sign for United in January for £14m net per season with a £29m signing on bonus.

City fed the media that the reason they didn't pay more was out of principle: Pep vs Money. Because they had already agreed terms and didn't like Sanchez asking for more. How dare he ask for more when another top club have given a better offer.
