If you read the full quotes from Martial's agent, it's obvious that this is really more about the wage being offered in a new contract than anything else.

I just refuse to believe any rumours when it comes to Real Madrid and a new GK (that goes for De Gea and anyone else)

Don't know if that's Mourinho saying the last part. Probably Ed that doesn't want to fold just yet.

Yeah I was just kidding, probably just us putting it out there that just because he wants to leave doesn't mean it'll be for cheap.

Just making sure we get a decent price.

Didn't Mourinho previously say that any player who wants out will not be stopped from leaving? If so, back-tracking big-time come the reality ...

Players that aren't in his plans and/or don't play enough. which doesn't apply to Martial.

No surprise a Brazilian wants to live in Spain rather than England. To the United fans mocking Liverpool as a place to live, i'm guessing you've never visited Manchester lol. It's got the 2nd highest crime rate after London.

Karius in net next year then?

Fair enough mate. I do actually agree with you on this apart from the £80m. I certainly wouldn't mind Klopp getting his hands on him.

Not that it matters, but it wasn't me who mentioned the 80m fee
And yeah, I actually think playing under Klopp would show Martial as a completely different player in the system he uses.
Same as I think Salah under Mourinho would look half the player

Manchester is huge though compared to little Liverpool. Crime rate is understandable.

I certainly want an upgrade on our keeper situation, but in regards to Karius he actually done ok between coming in in Jan and the Champions league final. Just two VERY high profile errors in the last and most important match of the season. I just can't see how he could possibly come back from that.

I think Mourinho caveated that by stipulating that the player in question must not be getting regular game time under him (Depay/Schneiderlin no problem, but a request to leave from Lukaku, would obviously be refused).

Juve have apparently been trying to get Martial included in any deal for Alex Sandro this summer and he was also one of three players Madrid reportedly asked to be kept informed about in a call earlier in the season (a call in which we were also informed that Modric, Kroos and Bale would be available for transfer).

My guess is we'll sell him this summer, perhaps as part of a player exchange for Sandro/Bale.

Mourhino says alot of things these days, funny the same isn't being applied to Fellani.

Give him Ashley Youngs wage. Sorted.

Can't blame him wanting more, given how we're just throwing around 200k+ wages recently.

Is he going to be given the chance to? I agree that his 2nd half of the season was strong, and is generally a good keeper. It'll be even more difficult for him to come back career-wise if the club bins him completely, as that's quite a kick in the confidence. But based on the magnitude of the errors, you can't really blame the club for wanting an upgrade.

He'd be difficult to sell on too, as he's going to be associated with those high profile errors for the foreseeable future. How could a buying club put a positive spin on that?

I really doubt a professional like Alisson would pick a club based on the weather of the city. That is lazy journalism. A lot of Brazilian players spend half their careers in Ukraine and you see no signal they are unhappy. The thing is that since kids they dream to play in the NT/Barcelona/Real.

If you had to pick between Liverpool and Madrid, I'm sure the lifestyle would matter. This is the move he would expect to stay at the club for at like 3-4 years, so it is important.

It could be the case if the clubs involved were, lets say, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool. But since its Real Madrid i believe even a hardcore Liverpool fan would pick the Spanish side.
