"However, crucially, the investigation centred around Les Parisiens’ accounts for 2015, 2016 and 2017, not 2018, which is the financial year where PSG spent €145m + €35m on Kylian Mbappé and €222m on Neymar, according to L’Équipe. Those purchases fall into this financial year, which closes at the end of August, meaning that PSG are more likely to face punishment this time next year."

The fecking cheek making such a derisory offer for the best player in the Championship, whilst the cnuts have the audacity to quote us over £55 million for Alderweireld.

Spurs have to be the most tight-fisted, stingy club in world football. Juventus are a close second.

He looks like what a Picasso painting would look like if Pablo was alive today.

Thank you sir.

And I forgot to mention, from what I understand the move should have happened earlier but Lyon weren't happy and accused Monaco of misconduct, turning the player's head or something like that.

Ah right that makes slightly more sense now. Well guess they are shagged next year then.

Other clubs are free to bid more if they want … so why you think Spurs should bid more than they feel they have to at this stage is baffling.

Just to annoy you Glaston!

Birmingham City supporter in the pub with a Villa fan …. tells him they are selling Grealish to Albion for £15million. Villa fan says "You are winding me up."

"No", says the other, "it's HMRC that are winding you up. I'm just taking the piss."

It's an insulting and disrespectful bid. It's unfair demanding top dollar for your own players when you don't even do the courtesy of offering a decent amount for a top player of a team in the tier below. It's hypocrisy. It's like if we came to you and offered you £30 million for Alli. You'd (quite rightly) tell us to feck off and want at least triple that.

Fair enough if you get the player for that much if no one else makes a bid but I think Spurs and Levy will always have a reputation of being penny pinchers. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but they just come across as a bit lame.

Why is there not a fecking process and policy that you have to prove you have the revenue to whatever stipulations are in place before you can buy a player or at least a vetted projection instead of this retrospective BS slaps on the wrist? All this means you can get away with it by breaking the rules then selling down the line to be let off? By then the impact has already happened and other teams transfer windows, squads were financed and teams league positions affected for all parties.

It stinks.

I don't know him, he already visited Monaco three weeks ago and he is supposed to be a great talent.
Heard about him a few months back when Lyon president said he only sells for 70 mil. He was linked with both Arsenal & Monaco at the time. From what I heard he's on the very high end of talent level, wonderkid winner level. Didn't see it but he already make debut for Lyon first team.

Edit: Found a youtube video.

Incredibly goosd decision making for his age

Insulting and disrespectful? What price do you imagine that Grealish will go for, assuming he's sold to some club or other? From your comments ("at least triple" with regard to Alli) you seem to be implying that he should sell for £45m or more.

I'd be surprised if it's more than £25m tops, considering his contract situation. So putting in an initial £15m bid is 60% of that - whereas £30m is far less than 60% of the price that Alli would go for.

If Villa want to say no, then they can. And if Spurs then want to bid more, then we will. Being "lame" has nothing to do with it either way. Bids are not made to impress observers or to meet their perception of what's "fair".

The so-called "penny pinching" of Spurs has allowed us to spend lavishly on our new stadium - or are we "penny pinching" on that as well?

Anyhow, that's all from me on this in this thread.
