Its still too low in my opinion. Just an example and not a rule but Coutinho cost what 150? Is there 150 shaped hole in Liverpools team...have Barca's team improved by such value?

I wouldn't entertain anything short of Neymar money for the best keeper in the world given what he's worth to us, that we don't need to sell and the fact any other team will add 50m to whatever replacement we want to buy because it's us. I would set the starting price at 250m for DDG. You want your shiny new toy...then pay the price

Keepers doesn't have the same value as attackers though. Replacement i was thinking Oblak, he has a release clause around 90m afaik, so would be ideal to use that one.

I don't think Dave will leave though.

People are overestimating his price, i would sell for around 120M£/130M£. Oblak's release clause is 87M£, i would trigger it right after, triggering the release clause would prevent teams from increasing their asking prices for their keepers. and we would have 40M£ for another player.

I would even trust Romero for a year or so and give him a chance. he showed loyalty in addition to the fact that we know he's a great goalkeaper. it would give us 130M£ in addition to whatever money we have for transfers this summer.

Pretty sure we wont sell him this summer or even next summer. I hope Henderson is ready by the team he decided to leave

Those DDG quotes sound a lot like we're in for a saga this summer. If we sell him it's Oblak or bust for me, would be fine with Romero/Pereira/Henderson for a season and hope either of the youngsters steps up.

Perez is a disgrace. But we have to know what De Gea wants. The time we sold Ronaldo we showed we were unprepared and stupid because while we got a decent price up front we bought dross and not only that if you announce it before you spend it, immediately it's value decreases. We need to be smarter to make sure when/IF we lose De Gea that we create the best scenario. We need to look at who munich are selling/whats happening with Sporting and we need to see if we can create a scenario where we can sell de gea and end up strengthening two areas for the price of one.

I know that and that makes sense to me too but players didn't cost 200m as well a few years ago, times change and theres no reason we shouldn't try put a ridiculous fee on a player they are so desperate to have, is the number one for their own country and is the best in the world in his position.

No guarantee Oblak even wants to move though and any other club will rinse us knowing we need a keeper, there's no plus side to selling DDG.

Well, he will definitly leave, either this summer, or in a couple of years, he wants to, we all know that and quite frankly, i'm tired of all the speculation.

We are not obliged to replace him this summer, we already have Romero, which in my eyes, is good enough to cover at least for a year, he is better than a lot of first choice keepers in the PL, i would argue that a part from Courtois and Ederson, he's at least as good as the next one after them. so if we can't find a suitable replacement, we won't buy, it's as simple as that. clubs know that we have an excellent back up keeper.

asking for a player in exchange of DeGea would help us solve some problems of our own if we decide to go this way and count on Romero.

If he was to go it would be surely include a player

Asensio
Bale
Isco

One of them plus cash would soften the blow

I dont think it will happen but I would not begrudge De Gea leaving for Madrid and major titles. Unless we have an amazing window I don't think he will be winning a League or CL with United in the foreseeable future.

If we really have to lose him I think it should be this window for a fee of around 150m (which we could use for: Alisson (60m), Sandro (60m) and Martins (30m) - just dreaming here ) as there seem to be a few replacement options available this year.

However, I simply hope he will stay - FOREVER (again dreaming..)! :D

Why not? If De Gea insists on going and Madrid is ready to pay the high price, why not? I'll say sell him and upgrade Romero. I even think it might augur well for us to sell Dave. We can trade the money we get from selling him to get one or two two game changers into the team. Maybe we will get a better 'team' with him out. Madrid and Barcelona have been winning trophies without 'the best goalkeeper in the world'.

Flo really needs to let go of this unhealthy obsession with De Gea

If he's lost his mind to the point where he's willing to blow €100m in transfer fee alone on a goalkeeper, then trigger Oblak's buyout clause and be done with it. Not that it would make sense either

Alisson, cool, he's great, but again, €80-100m?!?!?! Keylor is good enough

Real haven't spent much last few windows Iirc.

Surely they can afford a splurge now? The client win last time with bit of fortune was bit papering over the cracks.

Assuming we were open to sell him, we'd be stupid to sell him for just 100 million. If the situation is that he is seriously leaving we ought to demand Kroos and Bale for him. In the current market we could make a case for DDG being worth anything between 130-150 million. Bale is probably 90 and Kroos at 80 million. Figure in their wages and in a monetary sense it would be a fair deal for both parties, perhaps we offer 10-15 million in cash to even it up but with the salaries of Kroos and Bale, an exchange with DDG and no cash involved is a monetarily fair deal.

Not too worried. Whatever his faults are, I have never seen Jose give up a valuable player and not get a worthy 'title winning' return. Etoo for Ibra, Cole for Gallas, Sanchez for Miki, 3 youth players for Milito etc. If he is giving up De Gea, he will ensure Madrid is appropriately milked.

The thing is they are at the verge of a dispensational change. A number of their key players are in their thirties and need to be changed soon. Will they be able to afford spending the lump of their budget on Dave when Ronaldo, Benzema etc need to be replaced? I suspect they will be looking seriously at swap plus cash deals to reduce spending and also selling their older valuables at insane prices. No wonder we are hearing rumours of ridiculous fees for players like Ronaldo and Bale.

So, Lopetegui fired as spain manager
Love spanish federation for not accepting his focus being on negotiations with RM before WC

Real Madrid accelerates to sign Alisson

Think releasing all this news about de Gea and Alisson is a smokescreen by Real for Courtois. One year left on his contract and the cheaper alternative to both 'keepers mentioned with the potential to be just as good as de Gea and better than Alisson.

Not sure Valencia at £17m can be described as dross. He’s been a fantastic buy.
