He was loaned to PSG for the season on the provision they pay his full fee by the end of this summers transfer window. It was cynical attempt to subvert FFP rules but they're still struggling to make the numbers add up (apparently).
Thanks Mr P. Did FFP just visit the dentist for a new set of razor gnashers?

"Barça are expected to have to pay around 30 to 35 million euros for the Dutch Under-21 international"

We should try to get this guy for that kind of money. Could be the next Modric, which would be welcomed in our team

Who is to say that De Ligt will be a sure thing either? Players from the Dutch league have been hit and miss over the last few years.

The reason we want a player like Toby instead of another prospect is because we need immediate leadership in our defense. Jose is expected to win now. Even Pep has had more success with proven defenders instead of prospects like Stones.

This is just the usual whining about other clubs signings. Just go have a look at Spurs signings over the last 3 years and see how many duds they are.

Ffs buddy get out the thread with this sensible shite and post somewhere else.

John Richardson: Niko Kovac has made Bale, the hero of Real’s third successive Champions League triumph, his number one summer transfer target.
But Bale has let it be known that if Madrid decide to cash in on the 28-year-old then he would rather return to the Premier League rather than move to the Bundesliga.

I dont tend to buy into newspaper rumours much, but Seri as an alternative to Jorginho makes a lot of sense to be honest.

Maybe City have indeed moved on from Jorginho.

I kind of hope we shed Lindelof, to be honest. He's got none of the qualities I look for in a top-class CB.
Although I wouldn't be against a season loan with no pressure to see if he can raise his game. I highly doubt it though.

If 35m is offered I’d bit their hand off.
I'd like to see some of the other defenders we have get sold before Lindelöf. A tough first season in a much harder league and currently going with Sweden to the World Cup where he might get some games as well. He's better at passing than a lot of the CDs we have. A bit early too sell a guy who still has something to prove in our team. Would have us sell Rojo and maybe Blind before we sell him.

I’d like to see if he can head a fecking ball at the World Cup- I hope he hasn’t been holding out on us

"Kante, the negotiations resume
The PSG is active to strengthen his midfield. After Thomas Tuchel met Julian Weigl's entourage in April, Antero Henrique resumed talks for midfielder N'Golo Kanté.
... The Blues would like to get a sum of around 80 million euros"

They would make a huge profit selling Kante, even by Chelsea standards. Plus, they have Drinkwater in reserve so all's good ;)

This. I just don't get why people are written off so fast. Lindelof has a lot of potential. He's 23 or something ffs. I mean were people just expecting him to turn up from a far poorer league and be amazing instantly?

Give young talent a platform to flourish and don't be surprised if they make some mistakes along the way.

Blah blah blah blah he can’t head a ducking ball

Now I hope I’m proven wrong and he’s spent the last 3 weeks heading oranges hanging from his ceiling and attacking rolled up socks thrown at him by his new wife

But I doubt it

There was this keeper we bought a few years back. Couldn't catch a ball for damn and was panned by everyone. Dave I think his name was. Anyway, I'm not saying he'll turn out to be amazing but to write him off and sell after one season is bloody stupid.

Well, the width of our central defence isn't the problem we have right now as much as the quality. I think a loan move for Lindelöf would suit him well if he goes to the right club. I'm just sitting here waiting for us to sign anything on the right wing since the majority of last season was spent trying to cram as many players as possible on the left side.

I also don't think he's upto being a top class defender. Rather give Tuanzebe a chance. I personally think he definitely has more upside. Just don't think Lindelof has the phisical attributes to cope with top class strikes in the Premiership.

If it only was heading. He is just not an exceptional defender, 1 on 1 or positionally. His passing is also not top class and what we got promised. 30m and good riddance, but i doubt Jose will get rid of hilm so quickly.

Players like Darmian and Blind have had enough chances, 3/4 seasons to be exact. Lindelof has had one season, give the guy a chance.

Honestly people have no patience whatsoever. Not many players are world class overnight or at first glance, players need time, experience and opportunities.

It’s not that, he just doesn’t look like he has the basics

This guy has more flair than Modric. He's a terrific Deep Lying Playmaker. He could be Carrick's replacement.

Exactly. He may make it, he may not but he's young and entered a tough league (particularly for centre halves) so let's just maybe wait before dumping the £30m we invested in the guy. It's just possible he might be a really good player with some time to adjust and develop.

Personally, I've no real desire for us to buy a centre half this summer. There are far more pressing priorities.

I agree. We need people that can actually cross the ball into the box. Getting a bit tired of watching Valencia overhit everything, and while Young is better at it we can still improve in that area as well. With only Dalot signed as an option on the sides I'm getting worried we might go into the season with the same obvious problem as the last.

According to Steve Bates

No deal. Mind you for such a loyal customer as Everton we can't let them leave empty handed. Maybe they'd like to consider something in the Jones, Rojo or Blind variety? We also have a dashing young Luke Shaw available. Could probably offer a decent discount if they buy in bulk.
